The power of positive thinking

  1. How much can we control with just our thoughts and mind?
    IMO, it is a lot.
Things as general as waking up in the morning and deciding it's going to be a good day, even though it is 5 am and I gotta go to work.
But also more specifically, I am going to nail that midterm tomorrow. If you're sick, I think you can heal yourself to an extent with your mind.

  2. Not to be a party pooper, but you need to be careful what kind's of affirmations you give yourself.

It's better to give praise on something more malleable.

  3. Srry dbl post but my phones messing up.
Part of it is, when things don't go as planned, just go with it, take the positives out of it. Make the best of the situation, and just be greatful for what you have. I am generally a positive person, and I am happy with where my life is.
What I wonder though, is my life truly awesome because of the positive thinking, or does it just seem better because I only think about the positives.

Either way, I'm loving it n

It's morning, maybe the point of that video went over my head?

For me, I would not be one to do the easy puzzles over and over. I would try the harder ones, and if I could not get it, I wouldn't worry about it. There is only one way to learn, and if you keep trying, you will get the harder ones. Just stay positive even if struggling with te tougher puzzles

  5. It's a delicate balance, as far as your own personal positive affirmations. The positive affirmation in that video is a different type of affirmation than that of which the OP refers to.

Positive thinking is crucial. What I think OP is speaking of, is part confidence and part positive thinking, to further delve into this mode we are speaking of. Positive thinking will lead to you giving value to others lives. When you become conscious of giving value towards others, it becomes automatic.

When this is achieved, you are really living. As the spanish poet Lorca wrote, "as one realizes that one is a dream figure in another person's dream, that is self awareness."

What am I trying to say? Positive thinking stems from you deciding that you will be a conscious human being. You will think about the things you say and do and decide to be a better person, and to seek everyday value. It could maybe be seen comparable with achieving Nirvana, to bring it in to a stoner sense.

Positive thinking is cowardice. It's all about avoiding the obvious Truth; life is perpetual suffering. I mean, wake up, people! Life is nothing more than a steel-toed boot kicking you forever in the balls until you die--alone--leaving nothing behind but a weak, fleeting memory. And once you're dead, that's it--done. Game over, friend. You're life is nothing but a small bleep on the screen; a meaningless existence carried out in a meaningless universe.

Because the whole universe is meaningless. It's just constant strife, an insatiable, illogical and directionless striving for nothing; a god-forsaken wasteland where suffering far outweighs happiness, where free-will is merely a pathetic illusion, where morals and ethics are thrown into a chaotic free-for-all and where are very nature is a never-ending war of uncertainty and desperation. Yes, sir, there's only nothing in this universe. Nothing but bleak, impenetrable nothingness.

...Wait, what was the question again?

  7. What I meant to say is that positive thought for yourself is an investment into yourself. I didn't mean to paint a picture of karmic vibes, but merely the power of self confidence.
