a friend who lives in AZ posted this today... those who believe warming of the planet and climate change expect more of these types of dust storms due drought and crazy winds... hard to imagine 70 miles of this....
I was in a doctor's office the other day and caught some TV news, whatever channel was on out of the corner of my eye. After sitting there for 15 minutes the reporting on climate related disasters happening around the globe was like a shock/horror reel right from an apocalyptic thriller. Carr Fire Tornado Creates Own Weather System Heatwave in Japan / Crops Dying Due to Drought Flooding Causes Evacuation Fears in Virginia Volcano Eruption & now a Hurricane Headed for Hawaii I was like, damn nature you scary as hell, I ain't messin with you at all this decade. Then I folded myself into space time with some distillate and peaced out. Without making a follow up appointment...
@mook2420 yes, we haven't seen nothing yet mother earth is just beginning to shake off stress... ever compare the earth size to the vastness of the galaxies? The number of stars in the milky way is beyond our comprehension and there are many milky ways beyond that one... Earth is like a speck of dust in the universes... yet we ants think we are so smart and important... lol
Side note: ants also think they are smart and important. I still don't like them in my house. I feel that what we've done to the earth is going to make things similarly difficult for us.
aside to your side note: i've only had problems with ants a couple of times over decades but the Chinese make an "insecticide chalk" that wipes them out right away... simply draw a chalk mark where you see the ants and somehow they pass the message down the pipe and the ants leave... not sure how it works, could mess up their nervous system or burn them... i believe it's even touted as being safe around pets but don't quote me on that... years ago could be found at any Asian market for very very cheap... But you do know i was using ants as a metaphor for humanoids, right? lol
@statseeker if you or anyone else enjoys science and has an open mind about climate change with an interest in the infinite correlation of the universe and all life on this planet, i highly suggest watching #ONESTRANGEROCK ... i've mentioned this before in this thread i believe... Oddly enough i watch it on a local Fox TV station but it is from national geographic... below is a link that supposedly you can click on permission to access your location and then watch an episode live... great visuals and information... even on free tv that i use... haven't paid for cable in my life that i recall... Channel Homepage Edit: Link above may or may not be useful but here is a very short clip intro on youtube... i don't see how the "flatearthers" can deny space travel and the shape of the earth.. but then again, look at the different takes in politics from left to right... lol
I bet it was some sort of diatomaceous earth in stick form, that's genius! If that was it, it works by creating a slew of lacerations on soft bodied insects when they come into contact with the powder. Dries them out and even can transfer back to the hive. It's a bunch of microscopic shell type magic all ground up into powder form. It kills bedbugs too. It's one of the only things that worked when I battled them... That's why I learned about diatoms. Those bastards, them and ticks. Rot in hell. Sorry to further side the aside side note!
it's been 12 yrs or more since i used it but as i recall you could draw a circle around something they like and they would not cross the line nor would i ever see dead ants... it's as if the first ant or 2 got scorched and screamed the signal RETREAT there main digs... most amazing thing i ever saw... Besides ants, what i hate in the house are fleas and fruit flies... haven't had a flea problem in 30 plus yrs but fruit flies can slip in fast through screens if they get a whip of something... One time after sitting in the grass by a pond fishing, got home took off close and had chigger bites the bastards were under my underwear... i was amazed, they sit lurking in the grass ready to pounce on any mammal? wtf do they do the rest of the time? lol
The reason ants don't come inside is that there's nothing for them. They'd starve before they found anything or be poisoned. We're poisoning ourselves. We're starving ourselves. We won't stop until there's nothing left for us. I don't get how it's a political issue. It shouldnt be. It isn't for people in Redding or Socal with fire or the Appalachians that are suffering floods. Ridiculous that we can't agree climate change is a human-EXACERBATED threat that needs to be ADDRESSED for the future of our country and species.
That is what I always wonder, you go anywhere and get mauled by mosquitos, how do they reproduce constantly when there is nothing to suck blood most of the time. Black magic! Lol
Ignore the climate change deniers. California's hellish summer really is a grave warning Los Angeles Times - We are currently unavailable in your region
As America Burns From Climate Change, Trump Officials Attend Denial Conference to Discuss Why Climate Change is Fake snip The conference was organised by the leading climate denial think tank, Heartland Institute (picture is a screengrab of its website) which has been regurgitating the same climate denial old rubbish – what we now would now call “fake news” – for the last two decades. It has received significant funding from Exxon and the Koch Brothers to do so. But all their climate denial friends were there too, according to Reuters, including speakers from JunkScience, the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow, and the Center For Industrial Progress and officials from the U.S. Department of Interior and the White House. The panels included sessions on “Carbon Taxes, Cap & Trade, and Other Bad Ideas,” “Fiduciary Malpractice: The Sustainable Investment Movement,” and “Why CO2 Emissions Are Not Creating A Climate Crisis.” As America Burns From Climate Change, Trump Officials Attend Denial Conference to Discuss Why Climate Change is Fake
So you dont think the Earths climate changes slowly over time on its own? Summer is hot dude. How about the Ice Age? Or when the Earth was covered in water? Or when the polar caps were a tropical paradise? Heck, last winter when I had a week of -25? “when you consider the hole that was found in the ozone due to chemical plants sending toxins into the air... that hole is shrinking now that regulations were enforced...” Wait - how can CA be getting hotter if the hole in the Ozone is shrinking? I found this list of high temperatures in LA CA that go back to 1921 on the Current Results - Weather & Science Facts website (Cite:Los Angeles CA Highest Temperature Each Year - Current Results) which at least puts things in perspective. Now, it doesn’t show the heat wave in northern CA from last year (it was hotter in CA last year in CA) but it does give a pretty darn good list from Oct 2017 to 1921in LA. “This page gives the highest temperature for each year in Los Angeles and the date that it happened. A date with a plus sign beside it means it was that hot on at least one other day earlier that year. These temperature extremes were measured in downtown Los Angeles and go back to 1921. The highest temperature recorded during that time there was 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 Celsius) on September 27, 2010. In my opinion and of course it’s only one guys opinion but climate change happens, has always happened and will always continue to happen. J
You think so? You think the folks in Brazil figure the same thing? How about the folks in Vietnam? Congo? I guess I’m in ummmm, “denial” lol - and I can’t stant Trump - so that theory is out the window... J
Right here in Maine... Or the folks to the west of us in upstate NY get hit each winter with Lake affect snow that keeps piling up and piling up and piling up… Last winter Redfield New York got well over 25 feet of snow, although the record is a few towns over which is over 39 feet of snow. Snowiest place in New York has 25 feet and counting I’m guessing that those folks don’t worry an awful lot about global warming. J
Reminds me of the story about Chicken Little I see Dems running everywhere screaming Da sky is falling LOL
No that analogy is more like Dolt45 ie, NO COLLISION, NO COLLISION, NO COLLUSION, BORN IN KENYA, BORN IN KENYA, BORN IN KENYA, FAKE NEWS, FAKE NEWS, FAKE NEWS... oh and WITCH HUNT, WITCH HUNT, WITCH HUNT... oh and back on topic of global warming... CHINA HOAX, CHINA HOAX, CHINA HOAX...
