How's it feel when you handle it? Very dense or spongy? I would use it along with castings as your compost source, maybe even instead of extra peat because it already contains some.

Jerry in the man when it comes to ratios with homemade compost, I am sure you can find some references in his thread, nice stash though! Maybe construct a worm bin and use it as bedding?
It feels and smells perfect, nice and airy with small but will hold form (just) when squeezed into a ball. I never put water in it but it's always that perfect moistness.

I'm thinking that too, I'll add it as the compost element in a couple of pots and see how we go, the girl in the first post has a bit in it and seems pretty happy.

I've learnt most of what I know from Jerry ,possum , g45, MI , SkunkP ,Krop , OD, chunk , QC , mx , Reggie and LD , jeez and the rest you but you get the point:) I read a lot.
Two ears one mouth, sometimes no mouth haha, I'm always around but I try not to post just for the sake of it.

Mixing some soil today tomorrow so I'll get that up soon.

Thanks haggard , I'm learning a shitload from your learning too. So much good info!

Take it easy

Edit : shouldn't have named names up there but if you have some nice plants I've probably learned from you too!! Thanks to all of you.
There's nothing wrong with being a little different...

There's a shit load of threads on here asking 'what's wrong with my 2 day old seedling?!?'.
Prob nothing I reckon, litfa.

Here's a couple with a few of the usual differences and we'll see how they go from here.

1- outside, cold nights 8c 45f or so right in the ground a week old thin stem and already wooded /hardened from cold or maybe the soil? But all in all I think slow but healthy.

2- 2days old, sun when it's out CFL till midnight, kept inside at night 17c 60f or so in about 70-30 maybe 80-20 peat / worm castings. Fat soft stems that I assume would be more susceptible to damping and rotting. If ya can't litfa that is;)

Updates will follow and hopefully it will become obvious as to what causes some to look a bit different to others.

Oz

Edit: update , potted the hand fed ones up a size, shouldn't have started them in so small trays to start off with and wont again. I'll stick to 100mm pots for seeds.
Pic of my seedling mix too,
2 cups peat moss
2 cups perlite
1 cup castings
Pinch of kelp
Bump for update. Pics a freebie.

Edit edit:: pics didn't appear in the quote. I've got mad tech skills too. Just have a look at page 1 if your interested

EDIT: you wouldn't be crashing my party Oz, always welcome
You fishing odie odie? HA don't have to track me man I'll find you;)
Luck you dig riddles hey: D

Ok sorry weird day today my sense of humor is getting a workout.
A question for you my friend and then I'll get to yours..

If a neurosurgeon specializing in spinal sends you to an orthopedic surgeon specializing in spinal and then that guy refers you to a SPINAL SPECIALIST ! WHAT THE FUCK! ?

Lol seriously man just give me a chair all this walking around between doctors is making my legs hurt!!
LOL sorry back to it;)

I can only comment on what I've read and heard but it seems like a solid performer and strong by all reports, been around 20 years so how bad can it be? ....
Wow shit answer sorry!

Ok seeing as we haven't really talked about it, fill me in on what your mainly looking for, strength, yeild , taste , smell/no smell , you get the picture, whats more important to you?
still going big this year? Strains so far?

5. I absolutely love AK-strains, nice yield, fast finish, potent medicine. In my mind I mimic their natural environment of the desert being whipped by 50 mph winds. I-likey.

6. hey look at that, the link doesn't work

haha no Oz, not fishing.

Always interested, but mainly thinking about it for 42o, so i guess we're looking for something that grows big!! But also i guess not too water demanding, early finish and potent as hell would be ideal. Sounds like it might be just the ticket hope2toke! Thanks for that :)

i got a hottie coming over in an hour and a bit :hello:, so brain is not functional atm....lemme re-read ur post Oz when i settle (and btw i suck at riddles!!)

Tbh m8, i reckon the doctor run-around is a scam 9 out of 10 times - all about that consult fee! Bastards. Sad but true: the only thing that has worked for me is to WALK IN spitting the dummy and steadily ramp it up from there. If all else fails, worth considering.

Good luck m8ey and thanks to all for the AK-47 comments

7. Serious Seeds AK-47 cannabis seeds are easy to grow and is one of the most popular strains. AK-47 is of medium height and produces good yields quite quickly. Extremely STRONG odour and smoke. The name was given not out of any idea of violence, but more in association with the one hit wonder that the smoke is. Quality without compromise makes AK-47 suitable for commercial grows or home use. These plants have a short flowering period for a sativa, producing compact, not too leafy buds that gleam with a coat of resin crystals. Flowering of these cannabis seeds take 9 weeks.

Lol I just chucked the plastic trays I started them in:D
I hadn't tried before but they were too shallow and roots were pouring out the bottom the day after they popped.

They're 4 days above ground now, I'll leave them in these 3" 100mm pots for prob 10-12 days if I can.

Oo a problem, pics attached what do you think?

Everything looks healthy up top but yellowing down the bottom.
The leaves I took off are the first true leaves she grew so the oldest.
Should mention the yellowing/necrosis? is on leaves from the main stem only.

On a brighter note I mixed up 50L of soil yesterday that should do the job a bit better, I'll add about 15L more perlite in about a month.

Seedlings doing well, the one outside got trampled by who knows what but it was just a stray that popped up in the veggie garden so it's no loss.

Also a very basic question:
when allowing my mix to cook/cycle should I cover it? Seal it? Holes in the bottom of the container?
It's just damp not wet, I was going to put it on a tarp but the dogs wanna get into it.

14. oZ I had a dog about 1 yr ago that would absolutely destroy my vegetable bed if I applied the remainder of the AACT's I used to brew. IDK what it was but that old dog who could barely move at times would make a beeline for it when she caught a whiff. Couldn't stop her LOL.

Let your soil breathe so keep it covered looself so air can circulate over it. If it'sa really large amount stick pvc piping or equivalent in the mound to create air tubes. If it's in a tote just keep the lid loose or sumpin. Air flow. Ciao! :)

Thanks Possum it's only about 50L in a 70L bin so I'll leave the top loose and might stick some agpipe down the middle.
Think ya got it all sorted and then get caught up on the simplest detail lol thanks again.

Hi Sticky, thanks.
I am not too far from them, they do have some good stuff hey!
Don't know if you've seen this,

http://www.nutri-tech.com.au/downloads/Life-Force Home Range Booklet (email).pdf
Has a few good graphs ect.

They do sell a granular neem fertilizer but only by the container load according to the website.
I might go out there and see what I can find anyway.
Really trying to keep it on the cheap this year but they sell a few things I'd like to get my hands on!
Thanks again

Morning OD!

The yellowing doesn't worry me so much as they were the oldest leaves but the dry almost necrotic looking bits had me a bit concerned.
And also it seems to be in a little grove in the middle of the plant, the rest is a nice healthy green.

Here's what I THINK it COULD be?
The last pot she was in I put a thin layer of Lucerne / alfalfa as a mulch onto and then left it there when I potted up,
I thought 'yep good shit more organic matter' now I think it's probably breaking down and causing a bit of burning?
Or dog piss? Lol
I've said I'm new to this hey?

Ha yeah I meant 'poly' pipe ,
I was reading two places at once and this guy I know is going nuts with 'slotted' agpipe.
I might have been smoking on one of my winter test plants at the time too.

And the neem seed yeah I want to find a good Aussie source, I'd like to eventually put together a list where you can get all the necessary amendments or substitutes within Aus to make a solid water only potting mix.
Places like nutri tech have the goods 'but you can do a lot better' (Edit: 'but you can get the job done' ) for less $$ I reckon.

It makes gardening a whole lot less daunting for me anyway, when your not having to duck out to bunnings/lowes or the local hydro shop every 10 minutes for something else too keep something alive that naturally grows out of the ground anyway.

My end game is to understand bio-dynamics starting from Steiners lectures in 1924 but I'm not even going to start looking at that untill my general knowledge is better, next year maybe.

Well better get up, Ava good weekend OD
