the official " Support Ron Paul " thread

  1. I Support Ron Paul. Not just because he wants to abbolish the war on drugs (something i personally dont think any canidate can do, but thanks for at least trying), but because of the other things he stands for, like abolishing the patriot act and restoring some liberties, pulling out of nato and the u.n., abolishing gun controll, bringing home the troops and smaller government, abolishing the i.r.s.

even if your democrat, what have they done for you, last year america voted them in to congress and the senate, and they've accoplished nothing, and they dont have a viable canidate for 08..

Ron Paul, he's our guy,man.........you can't just not vote for someone, fuck what does that accomplish for you? for us? for the cause?........Vote Ron Paul for President.

  2. People need to look past party affiliations. They are dumb, and will be the downfall of this nation.

  3. fuck yea Ron Paul is the man.

  4. Aren't you a Bush supporter? Or am I confusing you with someone else?

Anyway Ron Paul is very good, my first choice is Mike Gravel, I'm voting Gravel in the primaries but if Paul gets the nod for the Republicans I will vote for him in the national election.

  5. party affiliation is a concrpt of the past the time is now to look past that and vote cause if we dont, organizations such as norml were a waste of time.
if you truly support the legalization of marijuana and other drugs, then start paying attention and vote., or nothing will ever change. no matter who you pick, pick someone for christ sake cause other wise its just like auto rock says, "it will be the down fall of this nation".....................................peace

  6. If you really want to get Ron Paul's word out..

Today is your lucky day! His fans organized a massive donation day today, December 16th, in order to break all current fundraising records. They picked this day in celebration of the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party which is widely recognized as helping to spark the American Revolution. It's one hour into it and they already donated $380,000.

So, if you were considering ever donating, today would be the day to do it. The total cumulation is what really matters.

Oh, and yes, I'm a Ron Paul supporter.

  7. oh i know i checked it out earlier, man he cleaned up.......peace

  8. ron paul, fuck yea, i just donated money. you dont vote you have no say!

  9. Ron Paul is actually not that good.

Like, you guys are focusing on his pro marijuana platforms. Which is more like, if your state wants it legal, it will be. But most states (ie, Nevada, Colorado) that have had a bill for it have voted against it.

Hes too idealist. You cant make all these changes right away, let alone 8 years. Revert power back to the states, push back towards a gold standard, apply private property to environmental protection, bringing down the income tax... this would all put a big strain on our economy. He's still too right wing for me... a classic conservative that uses alot of libertarian smoke to cover it up.

And to be honest, the whole "limit big government" thing sounds pretty good, but in my mind, that's a step backward. We need to change our big government into something useful that supports more science than oil and better living conditions for all of us. Further fragmentation of our country will not solve much.

Also, I just can't respect a strict Constitutionalist. Yes, its there to serve a purpose, and that purpose is to be a foundation for our country. We are supposed to develop and grow... the writers intended for us to improve upon it, and thats what we have done with judicial review. Everything cannot be so cut and dry.

That being said, he has some overall good ideas, but hes just not right for us right now. We need the flow of money put into military action routed back to us.

We need the political pendulum to be pushed back to the left. Ron Paul is not that push.

  10. Ron Paul is cool, but I really don't give a fuck, not like I can vote.

  11. i for one am not voting for him just cause he is for getting rid of the so called war on drugs, its his other policies that appeal to me. i agree with you that hwe is an idealist an that most of the policies are pipe dreams but, electing someone klike that sends a message to washington. besides who else out there are you going to vote for, hillary, please more people hate her than like her, shes ewverything thats wrong with washington. ron paul has a fresh voice, fresh ideas and we need that right now.

  12. I agree there Gravel is better but I doubt he has the support he needs, Paul on the other hand now has the money to seriously contest for the presidency. He very well may represent our last, best hope to avoid "1984"

and if you aren't sure what I mean.. READ MORE!

Also dont forget to donate cause today is the 16th the anniversary of the Boston tea party. Let our voices be heard!

  13. Werd!

    YES!!!

YEAH! VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE! If you don't vote --- DON'T BITCH!

Yeah man! I agree! :D GO RON PAUL... And don't forget to VOTE!!!! :D :D :D

  14. Ah, so these are your gripes.

Well first of all, with the removal of War on Drugs and anti-pot propaganda, information will flourish and states will legalize pot, at least medicinally at first. Denver already legalized pot in 2005, and if we ran another statewide ballot without the War on Drugs and federal penalty there is not a doubt in my mind it would pass (It was like 44%-56% in 2006).

He is an idealist, and not all of his ideas will be implemented in his presidency, but he will start the transformation into a more limited government with fiscal responsibility and friendly international diplomacy.

He admits going back to a gold standard for US currency would be hard, instead he wants to legalize competition of currency. The government arrests and confiscates any competition to the shitty US dollar, we should be able to use any commodity with purchasing power. This will reduce the dependency on the inflating/shitty US dollar.

The strain on our economy by some of his policies will be absorbed by the Federal programs that he can easily get rid of in his first term. IRS, over 700 bases over seas, War on Drugs, etc. will reduce spending by trillions of dollars. We won't have to borrow money from China to fund our wars anymore! The income tax is only about 30% of government revenue, Ron Paul can easily cut government spending by at least 30%. And imagine the newfound economic abilities of the working class without the income tax?

The current system still supports private interest and wealthy elite. Paul is clearly a man for the middle class, he will remove the curtain from corrupt government largess that looks after exploitative corporate interests. We do not need a government care system, we need to return to a system of personal responsibility. The government should play no role in charitable contributions because they are hardly ethical. Let's return to a system of philanthropy and kindness from individual good will. We don't need socialism...

The founders predicted exactly what has happened in government today. We have essentially become what Great Britain was, spreading ourselves thin across the world in attempt to spreading our "democracy" with violence. Our so called "white man's burden"

Following the constitution will keep the government small, central powers limited, and corruption at bay. We need to return to a system where the PEOPLE have the power to make change, not the Government.

We gave the government a chance over the past 60 years or so, and they've failed at almost everything. Almost every government run program has become more expensive and of lower quality over time. For example, health care and education. And for the benefit of whom? Not the people....

  15. These were all the things I initally enjoyed about him, but I failed to consider the implications.

We cannot have such a limited government. I strongly favor having a better run strong govt, so we can adequately progress.

The government needs to fund expensive projects like NASA and other science reasearch, and I personally do not trust the private sector handling technology. Well, not exactly, because we need competition to encourage developments; however, look at our medicinal crisis: people making patents so others cannot attain their medicine, essentially.

I also envision the United States of Ron Paul at a standstill, as he would be fighting one way, with the other branches pushing against him. Veto, override, dissent, etc. I simply do not see Paul as a viable solution at this time.

These are all the same people who're all about "CANADA RULEZ LAWL", failing to comprehend a) what theyre talking about or b) that Canada is more or less pseudo socialist, especially in regards to their healthcare system, which is universal, which is opposed by Paul.

It does not appear he would like to build or fix what we have, rather, cut everything off where it is and start over.

  16. Most people will agree that whenever the federal government takes control of a problem, it's usually inefficient. Private markets solve problems much more efficiently.

  17. No, they make the rich richer more efficiently. They also put power in the hands of minimally regulated corporations, something we already have far too much of.

  18. I agree with you metal. Since the Virginia Trading Company that Founded Virgina on economic purposes this country has been driven by efficient profiteering and the gov't is now the "Busnesses" bitch.

Reading recomendation for a further thought on this topic is call "the Corporation." the author takes the fbi checklist of a sociopath and lines it up with the american business model
