The name and properties of different types of Weed

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by BigBadBarl, Jun 9, 2009.

  1. Well, I'm by no means a scholar when it comes to the fine art of smoking ganja, so I'm looking to increase my knowledge here a little. In my time smoking, I've experienced "White Widow", "Trainwreck", "Afgoo", and a few other off-kilter names I can't remember. From what I gather from google, these are different strains of weed with different properties, but beyond that, why are there so many crazy-ass names for all these kinds of weed, and what are all the differences they can have?

  2. The THC ratio, The high, The feeling, The type of high, How "stoned" it'll get you... Stuff like that.. Like For instance -- AK47 had me throwing up mountains but with an body high that had me sleepy and thinking I was on a cloud.. Like that lol

  3. Yeah it can be the potency/thc content, the smell, the look, the effects, etc.
Most named strains are hybrids of both indica and sativa, producing both a body and a head high.
