Hey everyone just wondering a few thing about this month for the outdoor grower. I'm located in Nor Cal and was wondering what to expect growth to be like this month? Plants are about 8ft, what to expect? Also some of my plants are starting to show signs of flower (gelato strain) so I'll be switching my top dressing up to accommodate. What are some good top dress and feeding schedules that's are some favorites out there? for bloom? Cheers!
Nice trunk. I am also in Nircal, Vacaville to be exact. You should expect flowering to being in s keep or two at most. I would ensure you stay on top of the ipm. Caterpillars and mites are notorious for ruining flowering. This is the tip to remove unwanted fan leaves and remove and weak and small branches. This will allow the plant to focus its energy at building bigger flower. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Flowering now? The light is still 14 day 10 night. Are you sure? I have begun to add molasses and a higher phosphate mixture to my 2 girls. I am using a liquid soluble fertilizer I know bad choice (Miracle Grow). Right now 4 scoops high nitrate to one part flower (phosphate) and two large dosses of molasses per 5 gallon bucket. Each one gets 20 gallons and a good heavy watering to help soak the stuff down deep. Feeding about every 2 -3 days. Right now it is 100 here and 70% humidity so they are sucking up some water. I have also been spraying them down once a week with a garden poison to help reduce any unwanted guest. Once the flowering begins I will stop and use an organic one to help reduce damage to the buds. If ya read my introduction you will see a little more about me.
IPM IPM IPM. Prepare yourself for battle. The caterpillars are coming. Mites too. Dont forget to spray even once or you'll regret it when your most prized nugs turn to shit overnight because of a few worms. Just like us, they too go for the king nuggets. Always look at weather before you water. The last thing u want is to saturate your medium with the same dose and frequency you use on a 100+ inferno day, on a cooler wet and rainy day. That's how yellowing starts, stemrot, and mold.
If you forget to cram down BT bacteria in your calyxs as they're stacking on top of eachother then you're gonna give caterpillars an opportunity to thrive in that part of the nug. You want to trap the BT in the crevices as the buds form in other words while at the same time maki ng sure that it's not TOO moist to the point of creating mold.
If you don't spray BT from the beginning before they start stacking then it won't be anywhere near as effective. You might even think it was a waste of money. If a worm digs itself into your bud it'll insulate itself from all the BT, fingers, and predator bugs cuz all of that will just sit at the upper layer that you made direct contact with
I rotate BT and Spinosad for caterpillars. I also run a bug zapper in my garden to cut down pest. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
All the ladies are cleaned up and %100 positive about the gelato flowering, surprised me too bad pick but it's starting! I'm going to continue my feeding schedual for the platinums and Durga CBD but start my bloom formula on the pre flowering gel, lite to start. I'm going to have to get a game plan for the caterpillars, I've been warned. Cheers to all!! Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
