They deserve their own thread, amazing progressive band. I love their new cd, and their old one too. If you want to check them out you should check ouy De-Loused in the Comatorium or Frances the mute. And has anybody seen them live? my friend saw them live a while a go and he said they came out said nothing to the crowd and started jamming, within 20 minutes there was a huge cloud on top of the crowd hahaha.
Im i pretty big fan of them, i think they incredibly inovative and light years ahead of thier time. I also liked at the drive in's stuff, altough emo...i just like it. Listening to the Mars Volta has taught me to look beyond the genre, if i like it who cares if its emo or classical ya know? Im going to be seeing them at the end of the month in Worcseter, Ma (sp?) with System of a Down, should be an amazing show, anyone else goin to that shoiw? we can smoke up
saw them live in chicago, they put on a great show, if u get a chance to see them do so. in regards to thier cds deloused amazing, francis the mute alright, i didnt like how omar produced it, had too much of his solo album sound into it, too much dead time between songs, rubin should have done francis the mute it would have been so much better
I went to that concert Mike. I like Mars Volta, but I really went to see System. Went to the Toronto show, and Mars Volta was booed. Nobody was really interested in their music. From what I heard, they've been getting booed off the stage everywhere. They just shouldn't be touring with System.
ya i dont think it was a good bill...they should have toured with other bands who jam out alot...they to much improv to be accepted by a SOAD fanbase...amazing show i thought though, best ever so far.

what are ur guys favorite songs by them, i tried to listen to one or two but didnt really like it and though maybe they were just bad songs, and that was weird since the first 3 of you have the same avatar it confused me i tough u all were the same until the secong time i looked

Ah come on now, you have to respect SOAD. I agree Mezmerize was a let down, but it had a few decent songs. Their first album was incredible, but Toxicity was the best. I haven't given up hope just yet. I'll wait until Hypnotize is released to see if System's sound has gone to crap. Oh and yeah, while Bad Acid Trip and Mars Volta were on stage most people weren't even paying attention and everyone was passing joints. It was nice.
