surprised no one had started a thread for this show. if you haven't seen it, I'd recommend it. to give a quick synopsis, one day a shit load of people just disappear, obviously leaving people confused. cults start popping up rampantly, some of which cause problems with the distressed and depressed people left behind. it mostly follows a chief, his family, 2 cults, and the townspeople of Mapleton(new york? I think). latest ep quite a lot of shit got revealed, or maybe not a whole lot but some big stuff.
I dunno what I think of it. I kinda wanna get into it but at the same time it hasn't really been holding my attention. The opening is fuckin awesome though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PTNHQND6MA
Glad u posted this I had been thinking of watching it and wanted to know some other opinions first. Just fired up my HBO on the xbox and I shall report back after I watch a few episodes.
This is one of my top shows this season, I really like the direction its headed in. It fucks with your head though, I never really have a grasp of what is really going on. Is it religious, government, science, wtf??? The cult is weird too, I can't figure out if its good or bad. I can't stop watching though, I need to know what happens.
Just wanted to bump this since the second season is underway. Personally, I have no clue what is happening in either season, but it sure is fun to watch.
This is one of my favorite shows. I love the way they tell the story, you never know exactly what's going down but you can take multiple stabs at it! The acting is above par as well.
It's a quite interesting show. You got to catch season one though to fully get some aspects in season two.
That pretty much carries through all the episodes so far. There is a continuing line of weird stuff going on.
It's an interesting show... but it's depressing lol Plus the show creators have come out and said that we basically will never find out why the "event" happened, and the show is just about the world dealing with it. I have a feeling the show will never really address or explain any of the crazy weird shit that happens.
Just finished season 2, it all makes so much more sense at the last 10 - 15 minutes of the final episode (pretty epic.) I'm still really confused though, LoL. Totally understandable if you lost interest. You really have to have the willingness to watch a bunch of grieving people grieve and a liking for cryptic symbolism. I finally think it has to do with Armageddon (I know the people in white and Kevin mention that smoking helps them remember the end of the world earlier in the second season, but the last 10-15 minutes sort of confirms it.) It parallels that biblical story (forgot what it's called, haven't read about it since I was in middle school, I think) where first there is rapture into heaven (the sudden departure), people commit sin for 7 years (what is being foreshadowed in the last scene), the anti-christ comes (the baby Kevin and Nora adopt?) and however else that story goes on. Really made me wait till the last 10-15 minutes of the last episode of season 2 to make the connection LoL I'm pretty pumped for season 3 (it's going to be the last season I think)
havent even started season 2. I have like 400-500gb of movies and shows I've needed to get to. probably get around to it after I finish this last season of under the dome(probably shouldnt have bothered, its the last season and its dragging on quite a bit)
I just finished the season 2 finale. Watched all 20 episides in about 26-29 days.. so yup .. I'm looking forward to some more eps to drop Lots of people saying it's sad or whatever, but Its pretty funny as well. Show has got a great balance to it The 3rd and final season is slated to premiere sometime in April, which is apparently going to be 8 episodes. I don't like hearing only 8 more to go , but I do like hearing that I don't have to have an extended break from the show if it's back in just three months
