  1. Incredible song to listen to tripping.

Tv on the Radio - Province

    Suddenly, all your history's ablaze
Try to breath as the world desintegrates
Just like autumn leaves we're in for change
    Holding tenderly to what remains
And all your memories are as precious as gold
And all the honey and the fire which you stole
Have you running through all your red cheek days
Shaking loose these songs from their sacred hiding space

Hold your heart courageously as we walk into this dark place
Stand, stare fast, erect and see that love is the province of the brave

Push under this expanse of buzzing stars
Let this burning brightly illumintate where we are
Fill this hallow that lovers voices occupy
    Let it follow
That we let it free, let it fly
Breaking open the walls of this cage
    Intoxicated, oh so amazed
Much like falcons tumbling from our hearts that blaze
    Conjoined, talons engaged

Hold these hearts courageously as we walk into this dark place
Stand, stare fast beside me and see that love is the province of the brave

    Undertow

  3. s
Darkness at the break of noon
    Shadows even the silver spoon
The handmade blade, the child's balloon
Eclipses both the sun and moon
To understand you know too soon
There is no sense in trying.

Pointed threats, they bluff with scorn
    Suicide remarks are torn
    From the fools gold mouthpiece
The hollow horn plays wasted words
    Proved to warn
That he not busy being born
    Is busy dying.

Temptation's page flies out the door
You follow, find yourself at war
    Watch waterfalls of pity roar
You feel to moan but unlike before
    You discover
    That you'd just be
    One more person crying.

So don't fear if you hear
A foreign sound to you ear
It's alright, Ma, I'm only sighing.

As some warn victory, some downfall
    Private reasons great or small
Can be seen in the eyes of those that call
To make all that should be killed to crawl
While others say don't hate nothing at all
    Except hatred.

    Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their marks
Made everything from toy guns that sparks
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It's easy to see without looking too far
    That not much
    Is really sacred.

While preachers preach of evil fates
    Teachers teach that knowledge waits
    Can lead to hundred-dollar plates
    Goodness hides behind its gates
But even the President of the United States
    Sometimes must have
    To stand naked.

An' though the rules of the road have been lodged
It's only people's games that you got to dodge
And it's alright, Ma, I can make it.

    Advertising signs that con you
    Into thinking you're the one
That can do what's never been done
That can win what's never been won
    Meantime life outside goes on
    All around you.

    You loose yourself, you reappear
You suddenly find you got nothing to fear
Alone you stand without nobody near
When a trembling distant voice, unclear
Startles your sleeping ears to hear
    That somebody thinks
    They really found you.

A question in your nerves is lit
Yet you know there is no answer fit to satisfy
    Insure you not to quit
To keep it in your mind and not forget
That it is not he or she or them or it
    That you belong to.

Although the masters make the rules
For the wise men and the fools
I got nothing, Ma, to live up to.

For them that must obey authority
That they do not respect in any degree
Who despite their jobs, their destinies
Speak jealously of them that are free
    Cultivate their flowers to be
    Nothing more than something
    They invest in.

    While some on principles baptized
    To strict party platforms ties
    Social clubs in drag disguise
    Outsiders they can freely criticize
Tell nothing except who to idolize
And then say God Bless him.

While one who sings with his tongue on fire
Gargles in the rat race choir
Bent out of shape from society's pliers
Cares not to come up any higher
But rather get you down in the hole
    That he's in.

But I mean no harm nor put fault
On anyone that lives in a vault
But it's alright, Ma, if I can't please him.

Old lady judges, watch people in pairs
    Limited in sex, they dare
To push fake morals, insult and stare
While money doesn't talk, it swears
    Obscenity, who really cares
    Propaganda, all is phony.

While them that defend what they cannot see
    With a killer's pride, security
It blows the minds most bitterly
For them that think death's honesty
    Won't fall upon them naturally
    Life sometimes
    Must get lonely.

My eyes collide head-on with stuffed graveyards
    False gods, I scuff
At pettiness which plays so rough
    Walk upside-down inside handcuffs
Kick my legs to crash it off
Say okay, I have had enough
What else can you show me ?

And if my thought-dreams could been seen
They'd probably put my head in a guillotine
But it's alright, Ma, it's life, and life only.

  4. Ive always found it insperational but others my not
Nine Inch Nails - "Right Where It Belongs"

See the animal in his cage that you built
Are you sure what side you're on?
Better not look him too closely in the eye
Are you sure what side of the glass you are on?
See the safety of the life you have built
    Everything where it belongs
Feel the hollowness inside of your heart
    And it's all
    Right where it belongs

    [Chorus:]
    What if everything around you
    Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know
    Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection
Is it all you want it to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks?
    Would you find yourself
    Find yourself afraid to see?

What if all the world's inside of your head
    Just creations of your own?
    Your devils and your gods
All the living and the dead
    And you're really all alone?
You can live in this illusion
    You can choose to believe
You keep looking but you can't find the woods
While you're hiding in the trees

    [Chorus:]
    What if everything around you
    Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you used to know
    Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection
Is it all you want it to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks
    Would you find yourself
    Find yourself afraid to see?

  5. I dig my toes into the sand
The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket
I lean against the wind, pretend that I am weightless
And in this moment I am happy
    Happy

    I wish you were here
    I wish you were here
    I wish you were here
    I wish you were, here

I lay my head onto the sand
The sky resembles a back-lit canopy with holes punched in it
I'm counting UFO's, I signal them with my lighter
And in this moment I am happy
    Happy

    I wish you were here
    I wish you were here
    I wish you were, here
    Wish you were here

    The world's a rollercoaster
And I am not strapped in
Maybe I should hold with care
But my hands are busy in the air, saying

    I wish you were here
    I wish you were
    I wish you were here
    I wish you were here
    I wish you were, here
    Wish you were here

  6. kris kristofferson song written after janis joplin died...

    "Epitaph"

    Her close friends have gathered.
    Lord, ain't it a shame
    Grieving together
    Sharing the blame.
    But when she was dying
    Lord, we let her down.
    There's no use cryin'
    It can't help her now.

    The party's all over
    Drink up and go home.
It's too late to love her
    And leave her alone.

    Just say she was someone
    Lord, so far from home
    Whose life was so lonesome
    She died all alone
    Who dreamed pretty dreams
    That never came true
    Lord, why was she born
    So black and blue?
    Oh, why was she born
    So black and blue?

  7. hell yea dude! Tool changed my life and its nice to see some tool instead of an assload of just bob marley

  8. Crazy song.

  9. Sigur Rós's () album. There are no "lyrics" per say. All of the tracks are untitled. All of the vocals used are gibberish with a few Icelandic syllables mixed in. In the CD booklet, after the cover, the pages are completely empty and meant for you to write in it how you perceive or interpret their songs. Beautiful album. One of my absolute favorites.

  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unb3m_6ceZQ

    This was a stormy ending
    Water sank our boats
    Shouldn't we, oh, shouldn't we
Throw our hopes into the ocean
    The ocean
    The warm grey sea

Tell me or kick me or hold me or please believe
    This is their busted future
    And this is our dream
Which one do you believe in, believe in, believe in, believe in
    Together, together, together, together
    Never to retreat
    Mystery and wonder
    Messy hearts made of thunder

    Somewhere there's a soldier
    Sleeping in a field
    Somewhere there's a mother, a mother, a mother
    A mother, a mother, a mother
    Please believe in gentle dreams
    The sweetness of people
    Whistling in their sleep

    The angels in your palm
    Sing gentle worried songs
    The sweetness of our dreams
    Like mountains made of steam

    The angels in your palm
    Sing gentle worried songs
And the sweetness of our dreams
    Like mountains made of steam

    The angels in your palm
    Sing gentle worried songs
    The sweetness of our dreams
    Like mountains made of steam

  11. Saw a few good songs already posted.

    Incubus S.C.I.E.N.C.E. redefine

Imagine your brain as a canister filled with ink yeah
Now think of your body as the pen where the ink resides
Fuse the two; KAPOW! What are you know?
    You're the humane magic marker
Won't you please surprise my eyes?!
It's in your nature, you can paint whatever picture you like
No matter what Ted Koppel says on channel 4 tonight
So modify this third rock from the sun
By painting myriads of pictures with the colors of one
I'm sick of painting in black and white
My pen is dry now I'm uptight
So sick of limiting myself to fit your definition
Picture the scene, where whatever you thought, would, in the blink of an eye,
    manifest and become illustrated
You'd be sure man that every line drawn reflected a life
That you loved not an existence that you hated
So, must we demonstrate that we can't get it straight?
We've painted a picture, now we're drowning in paint
Let's figure out what the fuck it's about before the picture we painted
Chews us up and spits us out
I'm sick of painting in black and white
My pen is dry, now I'm uptight
So sick of limiting myself to fit your definition

EDIT: and Alanis Morissette - Crazy:

  17. A few off the top of my head.

    Buck 65
    - "Phil"

20 some years is a long walk
Even if its not in a straight line
You see a lot of things in the distance
You know what they say about great minds
You and I think about the same things
Dream the same dreams, play the same games
We started out in the same place
Believe it or not, we got the same names
Everything happens for a good cause
Whether it be victory or loss
And the road may turn into a runway
But you'll know what to do some day
Trust me I've seen it all before
I've climbed to the tops of the tallest trees
To get away from the deep water
To find a touch of the smallest breeze
Go find a girl with a low voice
Who holds the world in her bare hands
You'll fall in love, you'll have no choice
Once you are given a fair chance
For the first time you will sleep well
Take a deep breath, see the sun shine
Hold on to her for dear life
And then watch the whole world unwind
Ask her to show you some magic
And I guarantee that she will say yes
Tell her you've seen forever and
You'll be together not a day less
Just know until that time comes
And after you've crossed that first mile
That the hardest part is behind you
And all of the pain will be worth while

    From storm clouds come angels
    Let pain give you pleasure
    From dirt grows the flower
    When faith can't be measured

    Xavier Rudd - "Messages"

    So come sit down
Will you talk with me now?
Let me see through your eyes
Where there is so much life
    We are biding our time
    For these myths to unwind
    These changes we will confront

    So please beware
With every place that you had
    Look to your soul
For these things that you know
For the trees that we see
    Cannot forever breathe
With the changes they will confront

    You know some people
    They just wont understand
They just wont understand these things
    Thank you for your message
    But I don't understand
No, I just wont understand these things

    This sacred land it has
    Seen many hands, it has
Wealth and gold yet it is
Fragile and old and all the
Greedy souls just don't care to know
Of the changes it will confront

So speak out loud of the
    Things you are proud
And if you love this coast
Keep it clean as it evolves
'Cause the way that it shines
    May just dwindle with time
With the changes it will confront

    You know some people
    They just wont understand
They just wont understand these things
    Thank you for your message
    But I don't understand
No, I just wont understand these things
    You know some people
    They just wont understand
They just wont understand these things
    Thank you for your message
    But I don't understand
No, I just wont understand these things

    So hold nice and close
The ones that get to your soul
So that when it is cold
    You wont feel so alone
Cos the roads that you take
    May just crack and break
With the changes you will confront

With each gift that you share
    You may heal and repair
With each choice that you make
    You may help someone's day
Well I know you are strong
    May your journey be long
Now I wish you the best of luck
Well I know you are strong
    May your journey be long
And now I wish you the best of luck

    ---

The Dandy Warhols - "Big Indian"

Well my friends do me so right
    I'm lucky this far
    Maybe it's karma
    I get over them, but
    Only at times
And I thank my lucky stars
    I wish I may, I wish that I might
    Just keep an open mind
    All of the time
My old man told me one time
You never get wise, you only get older
And most things, you never know why
    But that's fine
    When the future is frightening
And I seem to be fighting it
    Well soon as it's brightening
Then I, I feel fine, and then I
    I feel fine
Well my friends do me so right
    I'm lucky this far
    Maybe it's karma
    I get over them, but
    Only at times

    Well the future is frightening
And I seem to be fighting it
    But soon as it's brightening
    Well the future is brightening
The future is frightening, but I
    I feel fine

    TOOL - EULOGY

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

He had a lot to say.
He had a lot of nothing to say.
    We'll miss him.
    We'll miss him.

He had a lot to say.
He had a lot of nothing to say.
    We'll miss him.
    We're gonna miss him
    We're gonna miss him

    So long.
    We wish you well.
You told us how you weren't afraid to die.
    Well then, so long.
    Don't cry.
    Or feel too down.
    Not all martyrs see divinity.
    But at least you tried.

    Standing above the crowd,
He had a voice that was strong and loud.
    We'll miss him.
    We'll miss him.

    Ranting and pointing his finger
    At everything but his heart.
    We'll miss him.
    We'll miss him.
    We're gonna miss him.
    We're gonna miss him.

    No way to recall
What it was that you had said to me,
    Like I care at all.

    But you were so loud.
    You sure could yell.
You took a stand on every little thing
    And so loud.

    Standing above the crowd,
He had a voice that was strong and loud and I
Swallowed his facade cuz I'm so
    Eager to identify with
    Someone above the ground,
Someone who seemed to feel the same,
Someone prepared to lead the way, with
Someone who would die for me.

    Will you? Will you now?
    Would you die for me?
    Don't you fuckin lie.

Don't you step out of line.
Don't you step out of line.
Don't you step out of line.
    Don't you fuckin lie.

You've claimed all this time that you would die for me.
Why then are you so surprised when you hear your own
    Eulogy?

He had a lot to say.
He had a lot of nothing to say.
He had a lot to say.
He had a lot of nothing to say.

    Come down.
    Get off your fuckin cross.
We need the fuckin space to nail the next fool martyr.

    To ascend you must die.
    You must be crucified
For our sins and our lies.
    Goodbye!!!
