The Inception Grow Room

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by Dissec, Feb 16, 2012.

  1. Alright, so its a grow room, within a room. The original name was "the rape dungeon" but we didn't want to associate our weed with rape.

We've been working on it since Saturday, cleaning out the basement, buying our supplies and everything started on Saturday. Its pretty stealthy, it looks like a closet and shelves, but its like some Narnia shit walk through a wardrobe... Boom, Marijuana!

We have a 600w HPS/MH light coming, it'll be here Tuesday. I have my 1 surviving plant from my last grow in there (1 turned male, 1 turned hermie). We just put 11 seeds in soil, 7 of them are from a haze mix, and 4 of them are assorted "famous" strains such as ak-47, northern lights, purple urkle, white widow, and green crack.

The soil we are starting them in is a mix of Fox Farms Ocean Forest and Miracle Grow's seed starter soil. FFOF on bottom, MG on top, and mixed up in the middle. We're doing this because FFOF nute burned my seedlings last time. We started in solo cups with drainage holes cut in the bottom.

For ventilation we have 2 50cfm bath fans, they work really well, we also will be adding various fans and air filters throughout the grow. We have electricity wired into the box we built, my friend did most of the construction and wiring, its pretty legit.

We are also using CFL's underneath of the shelf, to help in case those plants miss out on some of the HPS's light.

Now that that's out of the way, here are the pictures: (they may not necessarily be in order, but it shows some of our progress and the finished product, including the outside view, we still have a bit of work to do as well)

  2. Lookin good. Who said stoners were lazy?

  3. Thanks! And yea, my buddy did most of the work I'll give him credit for that, we all worked around a tight schedule, he's got more experience with electrical wiring than any of us as well and got our bath fans hard wired in along with a bunch of sockets.

I think the size is like 4'x5'x6', and we are also adding a 180kg magnetic lock and security system after the light is put in and wired.

  4. We've got our first sprout! My friend noticed it last night, pretty excited!

The 600w HPS/MH should be arriving today, temperatures are a steady 60f. Right now there are only CFL's in the room underneath of the shelf.

We're still unsure of if we want to re-veg the current plant thats in flower or just move it out of the room and into darkness to keep it in flower.

We may plant some more and see how it turns out as well, even if we run out of room it wouldn't hurt to keep them somewhere in smaller pots, like on our shelf or something, or if some look like little bitches we can keep the strong ones.

Here are some pics, also added another air purifier/fan. That makes 2 air purifier/fans and 2 50cfm bath fans, it should stay pretty cold in there since my basement is always freezing anyways.

  5. We got the 600w in earlier and my friend installed it while I was working. I think he put the hps bulb instead of the mh bulb in, but I'm not 100% sure.

We also got 1 more sprout! Here is a pic:

  6. Well, we have alot more sprouts! Leaf development on the first sprout too, room was 78f so we're leaving the door open until we get more fans.

Also the flowering plant isn't doing too bad, considering no nutes, brought this far via cfl, and being transplanted during flowering.

  7. Alright, so we've got 8 sprouts, and another seed is about to come up.

All of my haze seeds have germinated, 1 medical has, the 3 remaining are from the medical assortment.

Temps are steady, 67f by the fan, and 69f by the other end of the seedlings, you'll see what I mean by the picture.

The 1st seedling looks to be stretching I think, but its got plenty of light so it may just be the genetics.

  8. Alright so we've had alot of growth and planted some new ones (not pictured).

  9. Alright, so 14 sprouts now! The flowering plant isn't looking bad either. Most of the original seedlings are now past their first set of leaves.

I'm excited for the ones that are showing no stretching, there is one that's very low to the soil (and I didn't have to add soil to the cup, like I did with the others to cover their stem)

    Here are some pics!

  10. Alrighty here are some updates, topped all of the bigger plants (well, not the flowering one). They all need to be transplanted (the bigger ones) so when I have a chance to grab some Happy Frog soil I'm going to.

Advice on vegging nutes is welcome, preferably organic.

The flowering plant is looking good, new growth have started at the tip of each branch for more bud!

The 2 babies I gave close-ups are the cloning candidates, the indica grew super fast (medical group) and the other is from the haze group, its first set of leaves had 3 tips instead of 1 like the others.

  11. You stepped up from the rubbermaid, that's for damn sure. The plants are lookin healthy too. Are the seeds you bought feminized?

  12. Nope, they're all regular unfortunately.

We're growing a strain thats the same as your username! Well, supposedly is.

Me and my brother just transplanted 1 (the medical), I thought I took a picture of the root mass must have accidentally deleted it. We used mostly fox farms happy frog, with some ocean forest as well. Here is a pic of it right after transplant:

  13. Successfully transplanted 3! We just decided based on which looked the best, happened to be the first 3 sprouts!

They all had strong healthy root's, all of them are labeled with little name cards but they're not in the picture right now.

  14. Did you actually find a strain called kentucky kush? Or are you going to name it that? If it's the latter I'm honored haha.

Your doing everything right man. Good soil, good lighting, nice concealed and well vented area. The miracle grow on top and FF on bottom is pretty genius as well. I'll keep that in mind for my next grow. I have a feeling you're gonna have great success with this one.

  15. Yep, thats actually the strain's name. Its actually purple and was a pretty good smoke.

We've been transplanting into larger pots (10") and using Fox Farms Happy Frog, we're about to transplant 7 more we've already done 3, they look healthy I'll post pics soon, as well as some of my pickups and my bubbler or some shit who knows.

  16. Alright, transplanted a bunch! Some are still seedlings, all transplants went flawless.

We made a note of which plants we used a special soil mix, like all ocean forest or all happy frog, or hf and the remainder of that rooting mix from miracle grow at the top (of the soil before we transplant and cover with more soil, so it would help actually I think.)

Nute def's are from before the transplants.

Now, they aren't clones so its not definitive or anything, but lets see what up!

Anyways, everything is looking good, grow room is so smelly with the flowering haze in there.

  19. I feel like a pedophile looking at all this sexy premature bud porn.

Also, you have NPH in your tags, but no NPH in the thread.

    Neil approves.

  20. Haha thanks man, I just got 2 huge pots for whichever are my 2 biggest plants, some more for my cup-lings, and some other seeds for my outdoor (fruit and flower) garden that I'm doing for my parents.
