The House of Iron II

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Ironhead, Jul 18, 2017.

  1. Hello, I'm Ironhead. It's been a while since I built a new room and since it's happening now, I figured I would document it here. Hope to see some old friends and new friends in here along the way.

It's a one man crew over here and I'm the head honcho, so what I say goes...... but it's a bit slow going, especially with all the smoke breaks along the way.

Try to figure this one out! Haha my rough draft of the plans. I'll kinda tweak it as I go, but this is what I'll prolly stick to roundabout. Gonna be an 11x16 flower room a 9x9 for veg, a reservoir room and a drying area that will be temp controlled at 60 degrees and 60% humidity.. perfect for res's and drying. I have 4 1000w lights that are gonna get hung vertical, and I'll prolly add in some CMH bulbs as I get more cash flowing.

    The plans :

Here's the lumber I bought to start off with.. 60 104 inchers and some 10's and 12's. I don't think I bought enough now that I'm a lil further along, but we'll see. :

First couple walls went up without any hassle.... almost like I kinda knew what I was doin or somethin. :

Fast forward a day or two and Ive gotten 75% of the framing done around the garage... lots of shit in here too, nutrients and buckets and insulation... I have to shuffle all that crap around to build, so it's a hassle, but momma says it ain't coming in the house, so I guess I'll be shuffling. Haha

Well that pretty much brings us up to speed... today I'm gonna finish the dang framing and prolly start running the electrical. I'm excited to share this cause it's something I've been dreaming about for quite some time. Thanks for coming by to take a look.

  2. Nice mate. I did the somethin similar recently. I had to insulate a single skin brick out building. Dpm , Studs , insulation and plasterboard did the job. Its more time consuming than anything else but worth it. I hope it works out for you.

  7. Will the partitions be drywall or just film?

  8. Definitely drywall.. prolly gonna go with the mold resistant stuff used in bathrooms. Then Killz it all and a nice coat of white paint. I usually use Mylar on the walls to help with light reflection since I use vertical bulbs with no hoods, but I haven't quite made up my mind yet. Maybe just paint.. Mylar is a pain in the ass.

  12. Looking great! Wish i had that kind of room to work with! I'm sure you'll be killing it in there. I'd definitely look into cmh! Mine handles most of veg (315) until i cant keep em all covered without raising it too high, then i turn on the hps (600) for a week or two before flipping. The 630w units are supposedly the lumen equivalent of a 1000w IIRC, and provide a wider spectrum range as well. My 2 lights are cool enough in a 4x4 that i have only needed a/c on a few really hot days during veg (or kill the 600 until the sun goes down). Btw, i highly recommend anyone wary of Advanced Nutrients price tag to make the switch. The ph perfect deal is legit (have stopped ph'ing now, with the exception of checking runoff occasionally to make sure things are kosher), and i've had 0 issues thus far. Loving it.

  14. Got lots of friends in here already! Good to have you all in here for real.

Spent the day trimming and making cookies... didn't get a damn thing built on the room, luckily there's always tomorrow.

Lax I like the 315's cause it will cover more area without the added heat. I'll just mix them with the 1000w HPS's and MH's. Should be complete overkill before we are done.

Couple of the veggers tonight before bed:

  18. Evenin. Got a table built today for the veg side of things. This is in the old On Deck room and is gonna work for the next couple weeks until the room is complete.. I'm gonna setup drippers like this for every room.. love this style of growing.

I picked up a couple of these utility pumps.. 1600gph.. not too bad. We'll see how they are in the long run . I prolly should just get a magnetic drive pump..... in due time. Who knows, maybe this one will stay legit.. it pumps out like a madman as it is, just needs to stay that way. :
