Scored a few tarnished treasures on the distressed aisle. Replaced a Mandevilla that should climb a wrought iron sculpture and provide some shade and privacy for the front window.
Spent the day breaking up the Siam Lilly and Purple Heart clusters to spread their gift of constant color to all corners of the yard. Now have ten half barrel size containers with those two complimented by a stand a Mexican Petunias in each. All provide a display throughout Summer and are extremely forgiving of wet or dry conditions. The mystery sprouts are coming along nicely as well and will be split into matching containers to satisfy my unyielding need for symmetry.
Spring seems to favor the darker hues as much as I, while Summer brings an appreciation for the brighter end of the spectrum; hopefully Fall will provide the opportunity to blend them a bit better.
With absolutely nothing to lose, this sad specimen goes from soil to hydro even though in full flower; realistically only a few weeks to go before the ax falls even if it stayed in the dirt.
Slowly reshaping the yard to reflect my obsession; checkerboard pattern employed as platforms for above ground efforts compliments what was used for the lean to shed and extension for the patio. An additional 10 x 12 greenhouse for $79 couldn't be passed up, so now I'll have plenty of space for sheltering sensitive greenery.
