The final word: vegging with 6500K and ONE 2500K?

  1. I have heard so many conflicting things on this, and was wondering what you guys think:

I have 2 26-watt 6500K lights for one single plant. I have heard that adding one 2500K CFL is good to have during the veg state, and having 2500K and adding one 6500K during flowering is best.

Is there an actual point in having both 2500K and 6500K on the plants? Or should I keep it only to 6500K during veg and 2500K during flowering?

    Thanks everyone!

  2. i vegged mine under only 6500k. then during flower i added 2700k my mix of light right now is 2 t5 6500k 2 t5 3000k 3 cfl 2700k

  3. From the information I have obtained reading, watching and growing I believe it is best to have a balanced spectrum, about 50/50. Many production gardens use both MH and HPS bulbs to have a broad spectrum of light. The ratio you first stated will definitely be sufficient though.

  4. I'm a firm believer in the 3 to 1 ratio.. 3 6500k and 1 2700k for vegg then reversed for flower..
