WHAT UP G-CITY!!! I've been jonesin for the end of april since last october and its finally here... lets turn some dreams into reality. This years bought seeds are- 8- Kalashnikova fem- GHS 1- Afghan x Black Domina fem- World of Seeds 1-White Widow fem- Nirvana 1- Exodus Cheese fem- GHS 1- Automaria fem- Paradise (autoflower) 1- Afghan Kush Ryder fem- World of Seeds (autoflower) 1- Big Bang Automatic fem- GHS (autoflower) and more bagseeds than i know what to do with out of some of the best lime mids ive had the past year. Doing half of my germ paper towel and half water cup method. Im using Dankohzee's seedling starter mix of 3 Parts MG Organic Choice, 3 Parts EWC, and 1 Part Perlite in the starter cube flats of 10. Then will be transplanting them to 5- 10 inch pots with a similar mix (adding D-lime and some native but rich black dirt to the MGO to save some $$'s)and wait until they are around a foot or so to put them in the ground using the same mix in around 3 gallon holes. I'm not sure on what nutrients I wana use yet... any suggestions for an organic choice are encouraged!! The autos will be started the same way but I bought some FFOF for their final resting spot and plan on using Tiger Bloom for the first couple weeks of flower. My spot is a killer brush feild full of pricker bushes and six foot grass that people just dont trek through. Any extra plants that dont fit in that field will go to the cornfield from the 5-10 inch pots. I hope this year turns out quality. Any suggestions or questions jus holla!
ONLY USE A SEEDLING SPECIFIC HEAT MAT FOR GERM!!!DO NOT USE A HEATED BLANKET FOR GERMINATION!!!! ha cooked my first run of seeds trying to be resourceful with the heated blanket...live and learn. good thing i have 4 runs of lets say a good amount of seeds left. Germed second run of seeds without the blanket and 3/5ths popped after 2 days using the paper towel method and are in little cubes of my starter mix waitin to sprout. starting germ for 3rd run tonight. Bought four bags of a sphagnum moss based pro mix that has some marine and forest organic stuff seems to be extremely similar to FFOF for 5.97 at menards... This final mix replacing my previous idea of the final mix using the MG organic. It contains 2 parts pro mix, 2 parts native soil, 3/4 part EWC and 1/4 part perlite its consistency is almost identical to ocean forest... I also went to the hydro store and picked up some Roots Organics Buddha GrowandTiger Bloom. Ill use the Buddha Grow starting the second week of veg until 2 weeks before harvest(thinking of complimenting it with the RO's Trinity) and using the Tiger Bloom on the autos first showing of flower. Could I use the Tiger Bloom with the Buddha Grow if I use something like RO's Trinity or Nirvana from Advanced nutrients? I know I can use Buddha Grow throughout the majority of flower but would also like to use a more Bloom specific nute too. Is it ok to give nutrients to an auto during their short veg? I was thinking of maybe using both on the autos too. hope it makes sense im kinda fried from a long day of readin labels and shoppin around and of course... blowin my brains out in the process. Goin out in a few hours to fill my holes with the mix. Ill put up pics once i have some interesting pictures to post. ill be sure to post one of the mystery pro mix bag cause i cant remember the name/details and left it out at the spot. F.O.D BABY!!!
Ill be addin these throughout the year...Pointer of the Day- when using the smaller flimsy seedling container flats that are connected to each other in groups of like 10 or 8 dont trust the black plastic holder that comes with it as a sturdy platform for carrying and moving especially from a high to low place.. use a flat piece of wood or somethin else that wont bend or move while transporting the seedling stater cube flats... i think i may have disturbed my sprouting seeds when the flat almost folded up on me when i picked it up to move them inside tonight... i fixed the problem with a 1x2 ft piece of plywood under the flat. thats why im doin this in 5 different runs tho. PLAN FOR LITTLE MISTAKES THEY WILL POP UP!!!
sounds like you'll have a lot of dank coming your way. I cant wait to see how that cheese comes out, i was really debating on buying that
yea that and the AKxBD are the two im most excited about. I here that Afghan Ryder is supposed to be some pretty dam good smoke too. Its all I think about...
Sprouts are doin well had a kinda chilly day but they didnt seem to mind had good sun. Puttin my 3rd run's germed seeds in soil tomoro.headed out to fill more holes n shit tonight. pics comin soon as i get somethin interesting. Pointer of the Day- Wear protective clothing when gettin into woods and brush type fields. I got into some poison ivy or oak or somethin today and its a bitch! itchy den a flea twap.
This is day 7 after planting germ'd seeds. some of the sprouts leaves started to point a lil bit upward today... any ideas why? but most are lookin pretty healthy. is the one in the bottom left hand corner of the second pic stretching? idk why because these have been in the sun from the start... when should i transplant into larger containers? they are in about 2x2x2 inch cubes now, maybe a lil bit bigger. comment, suggestions, and questions encouraged! WE R IN BUSINESS!!!!
here we go fod.. having some issues with my babies also... only time will tell and hopefully a lot of sunshine..
They are all fine, i was jus being paranoid. no problems Anyone ever use Roots Organics Buddha Grow? when did u start it? results? Suggestions on when to transplant from the starter cube flat?
Thanks CZ! here they go. The first three are from yesterday(day7) the rest are from today(day8). the ones with the plastic are of my starter flat with a home made green house thing i made out of a super thick plastic that a sleeping bag came in, some smaller pieces of wood for stakes and the tripod thing from a hanging plant pot to keep the plastic raised up.
how dry should i let the small one get between waterings??? when should i transplant?? planned on adding nutes( Roots Organics Buddha Grow) when i see the third set of leaves. SOMEONE SHOW SOME LOVE AND HELP A BROTHA OUT!
Let them get dry to the touch, its hard to over water them while they are in the small cube trays. I usually transplant from the trays when the second set of leaves are a good size. Allowing the root system to get really compact also makes for easier transplant and once they are in a new pot with more room they'll thrive. Oh and does that little greenhouse have some ventilation? And the girls are looking a bit stretched, not bad but I always like to keep topping them off with topsoil to keep them sturdy. Looking good though man!
Good shit! real helpful brah, I was worried I wasn't letting them dry out enough between watering. I don't know if they are stretching cause ive been doing the "in out" method leaving them out an hour later and putting them out an hour earlier everyday, giving them the max amount of sun possible in a spot where there is no shade period dot, but the soil sinks sometimes when i water.. ive topped them off once already but prolly not as much as i could of. their stems gettin buried today. The green house is only cover from the top so its gettin plenty of air flow. its not really a green house more of a pavilion but seems to be keeping them warm and keeping moisture ... for the purpose( to protect from rain, falling branches and any other dangers from above) it is working well. Germ'd and planted the Afghan KushxBlack Domina, and all three autos Afghan Kush Ryder, Automaria, and Big Bang... All four popped n sprouted!!! (pics comin soon) but the autos two round leaves that show first seem small. Is this normal for autos? started germ for everything else thats ordered (Exodus Cheese, White Widow and the Klashkinovas.) Tip of the Day- when using the "in out" method to start/harden ur seedlings be sure to have a sufficient source of ventilation and airflow. I neglected to put a fan next to them the first two nights of this.. dont think it hurt them, but may be the source of the minor stretching? let me get some more expert advice! I know you guys are out there! anything is appreciated!
Nobody needs to be an expert to share a little knowledge. One of the greatest things about this site. Trill, error, experience harvested, and knowledge dispensed. Its a beautiful thing (along with the pretty bud porn ) And i'm trying a couple Kalashnikova's this year as well, they were so cheap I figured why not for a White Widow AK47 cross? Oh and about the stretching with the seedlings.. This will be my third year growing, along with knowledge from a family that has grown all my life, I have never seen a seedling not stretch? With the exception of an indoor grow with lights really close. Of course it could be because of the NE sun being a little weak at the beginning of the season.. In any case its not always a bad thing, end up with sturdy plants with big complex root systems.
yuh, ak47xWW should be some good stuff. they are doing great a few are starting to show second set of leaves blossoming
Sweet deal man. I accidentally spilt a tray with five Kalashnikova's in it last night. It was a mess, with barely sprouted seedlings everywhere. Needless to say I was pissed, but I transplanted them anyways. Come this morning to find them good as ever, perking up with their first set of leaves basking in the warm sun.
