I went for a walk out in the woods today to smoke a bowl and chill out. While I was sitting out by a tree there I got to thinking, "God" is my creator. I came from the world, We are initially made up of the same water, oxygen, etc that is in the world, I need it to survive.

More reasons why I like to think of the Earth as my god:

    -I can see it/touch it.
    -Everything the world creates flowes.
-The world is all around me.
-The world knows everything everyone does, it witnesses everything.

I can't say there is or is not an afterlife. I cannot say what created the world. However, I can say I know what created me, the Earth. You were created from the Earth, everyone and everything was naturally created by the Earth. Something may or may not be controlling the Earth but honestly that has nothing to do with me personally, I cannot effect that.

The World can also destroy life as quick as it can create it. Think of natural disasters, bacteria, viruses, etc.

Anyone elses ideas? Does anyone believe the same thing as I?

  2. Good luck with that. :smoking:

  3. Yeah I can understand your reasoning. I think pretty much the same but more like you are your own god.

  4. Actually, if science is correct and the bong (err bang) theory is correct, we are technically made of stardust and the Earth is as well.

Does that mean the stars may be our god?

    Who knows..

  5. Stars could be our Earth's god? A god is technically a creator, whether it's a cow to some or Jesus to others.

  6. I wouldn't get too caught up in worshipping a created object and forget how much mightier the actual creator is... but thats just me.

  7. I never said I woship the Earth. However, it is my creator, and I can prove that. Nothing else can be proven to have created me, or any of us for that matter.

  8. well, then technically the stars would be... i mean, since they created earth... and then earth created you...
    stars>earth>you.... = stars>you

  9. Then, you would be retracing as far back as what created the stars, then what created that, to a never ending cycle until you found all of creation. I am talking about a direct creation, something a little more far back than my parents, thus nature and it's cycle I guess.

    Good discussion.

  10. well said

  11. Or everything is entirely coincidental and the beginning was never created, rather it was just "there" and the right circumstances came around and set forward the creation of our universe.

Its difficult for us to think about this because whether a God exists or not, its hard to just think "it was there and never created, rather it always was and always will be there".

While I believe in a God, this universe doesn't need to have a necessary creator, it could just always have "been".

I don't know, its hard to think that way.

  12. my thinking is there IS something or there ISN'T something

we are here today so there is something, some energy

  13. I'm talking about energy to better this EARTH
