*Disclaimer* I am not trying to be an asshole or flame anyone, I am just trying to help out some people :smoke: Cheers guys and I am glad if I could help anyone :bongin:

I noticed recently that a lot of blades are having trouble differentiating between these three similar sounding words..

Well I'm here today to try and help clarify the meaning and proper times to use each word..

There - States a place of being. Shows that something is at a place and is telling the reader/listener where something is held or placed.

Their - A form of ownership. Something that they have with them, replace their with a name or proper noun. You could say, "I like Mike and Julie's dog." But with their, you could say, "I like their dog." It could show one or more than one person's ownership, whichever pronoun (he, she [singular], they [plural] needs it.

They're - A contraction meaning, "they are". If you want to make a sentence using this, make sure the there, their or they're that you are using reflects upon who your talking about. Make sure saying "they are" makes sense within the sentence before you place it there.

    Example sentences of each..

The football game is in Denver today, if we want to watch it we will have to go over there.

I believe that Tom and Sally own their own Coffee shop..

That whole family is silly, they're not teaching their kids how to properly speak english.

  2. I never really use they're.Just they are.At one time I used there for their but have been using them atleast from ehat I can tell accordingly.

Doesnt really mader do people iz gonna talk n type howz they like it lol

  3. I agree man, I just thought it would be helpful for some to have a thread like this.. Where they can easily learn the difference by just reading 1 post :p

If anyone has better ways of learning the difference, please post it!

  4. The balls are in *their* mouths.

  5. Very nice.. I like where this example is going..

They're porn-stars which means they enjoy dick in their mouths, over there on the bed :smoke:

Haha I got all 3 into one sentence :smoking:

  6. Great read.

    Mods sticky this!

  7. can people that don't know the difference even read the OP? hopefully they have some sort of text to audio program.

  8. IMHO, efforts to correct the piss poor education kids have received, would best be spent on voting out the politicians that dumbed down the public schools so no kid is left behind...(everyone gets rewards and doing better then others is discouraged, as it embarrasses the dumbasses)

  9. The monsters are over there in the closet billy, but they're afraid to come out because their skin burns when I pee on it.

  10. American Govn't , HIRE THIS MAN!! :bongin:

  11. Except for one fatal flaw... My stupid ass didn't even capitalize Billy's name.

    GOT YOU! :devious:

  12. Still better then what kids get taught in public schools.. lol

  13. I present an image made by someone much angrier with this issue

  14. Old people still believe in reefer madness, they're crazy.

There was a gram still left in my bowl.

Finally DARE dropped Cannabis off the curriculum, their propaganda was clearly bullshit.

    Do I win?

  15. That picture above me sums up my sentiments on the matter. Especially the part where it recommended these people to kill themselves.

<Lumberg>So if you guys could just go ahead and kill yourselves......... that would be great...... just great. </Lumberg>

  16. Good job my sirs, I hereby award you both with + 1 Internets :smoke:

We need a Grammar Nazi thread. A place where we can sip tea and talk like gentlemen. The problem is more than just spelling.

LOL I liked the "photo rant" But its a bit excessive.
Ah, we all make mistakes....I mean it does look like shit though, ya know. They're gonna regret not using proper grammar once they are grouped in with the dumbdums.

  19. ^ Agreed.. Everyone has their own writing style but if you are excessively "TIPyNg LYk DiS" you are pretty much going to be considered a dumb-ass...
