Does the Christian God exist? How does an all-powerful and all-knowing being expect us to follow a specific set of rules when he knows the future and whether we're going to follow them or not? These are the questions I ask myself... What's is your guys' opinion? I think about this crap all the time. Go check out my blog if you want to read my full thoughts on it and other things.
Don't even get me started on Christianity...Lets just say even if the Christian god exists, along with heaven and hell, I choose hell because what kind of loving god willfully sends people to burn for all eternity?
Well you aren't going to get a lot of christians to help you with this one, asking any hard hitting questions is pointless because they have difficulties reasoning, but it's always a laugh when they attempt to reason it out. lmao. For centuries religion thought that they set the morals and ethics for society, but nowadays society adapts and forms their own ethics. This is the reason for the rise in atheists, and for the hundreds of christian denominations. No one agrees with ethics because we've become wiser and more intelligent, and therefore it needs to be discussed and adjusted, not set in stone. The ethics in the bible are ridiculous, no one could follow those ethics 100% in our society and remain free. tldr; religion is bullshit.
Can't answer that OP, but I have another question to ask. "How do you reconcile the existence of a hell with the supposed omni-benevolence of God?" Otherwise, enjoy these:
Explain to my why it matters if God knows how the future will turn out? How does that take away from our experience?
If God knows what everyone will do at all times, future included, but expects us to believe in him even when he knows we won't, I mean, that's just fucking stupid. Assuming for arguments sake God is real, he willfully has sent thousands to burn in hell for all eternity. Just think about that for a second, he sends people to be in immense agony forever, no end ever ever ever. What a complete fucking dickhead. I want nothing to do with a malicious being like him.
Its a consequence of free-will. Its not like God enjoys it when people end up in hell. People go to hell by their OWN choice.
http://forum.grasscity.com/spiritua...ristianity-without-hell-very-long-winded.html and I'm also not actually christian, for the record. Just was up one night with insomnia and a fair bit of free time.
Yeah, my bad. I don't have a good answer. Well, God knew loads of people would go to hell before he even created us, so he willfully sent billions to suffer for eternity. I dunno man, that's just fucked up.
I dont know about billions. Anyway, although many people choose to end up in hell there are many people who choose to love God and live eternally in heaven. Why should the people who choose evil set limits to what God creates? God gave everyone free-will and wants everyone to choose good over evil.
Think about it, the people who end up in hell are people who choose to remain attached to sinning. They dont want to give up lying, killing, cheating, hurting others, etc. How can God accept these people in heaven? Yeah, hell sucks, but people who choose to remain hurtful to others even when theyre given a chance to change suck even more.
God allegedly creates people he knows will burn in hell forever and ever after suffering (although maybe less than devout people) for a lifetime. He could have spared them, but he made them anyway because... get this: he loves us. You can't invoke free will. He knew my fate and made the choice for me. If he loved me, he'd spare me. Therefore, either he doesn't really love everyone, or he isn't really going to punish anyone.
Not true. A person can be a great and loving person, and still go to hell because he doesn't worship the vanity of god.
I believe we are capable of making choices. If God has free-will, he is capable of giving his creatures free-will. Just because you dont like the fact that bad people go to hell doesnt mean there isnt one.
doesnt worship the "vanity" of God? what are you talking about? People who end up in hell are people who arent willing to change from their evil ways. Not accepting God means not accepting his authority, laws, etc.
