The cause of Vivid Dreams

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by AhToker, Jan 7, 2013.

  1. You know when you stop smoking for a little while and your dreams becoming a whole lot more intense. Personally my dreams are always fucked up but with no weed my dreams become a lot more real. Like my senses are really in sync with my dreams.

    Why causes this, anyone know?

  2. I don't know what causes it but I just wanted to chime in and say 3 of the last 4 nights I've had very vivid dreams (some awesome, some scary). They all felt incredibly real. And I'm only 5 days into my indefinite break. I would also like to know the cause because when I smoke everyday I rarely dream.

  3. I have not found weed to interfear with dreaming

  4. I feel you OP. I rarly ever dream when I've smoked weed during the day. But the longer I go without smoking the more I do so. Every stoner I've talked to about it says the same thing. As far as the reasoning, I couldn't tell you OP. We still don't even know for sure what causes dreams, so it would be impossible to explain why THC effects them in the way it does.

  5. never had it interfere with my normal dreaming or remebering of my dreams but like 2 or 3 days after smoking I remember a night or twos really well then back to normal wether I smoke or not

  6. The point of dreams are for learning from your days experiences. Not exactly true, but I watched some dream movie on Netflix, and they did an experiment where they had some guy play one of those virtual ski games, and he reported dreaming about skiing, and practicing the game. Then the next morning they had him play the same game and his scores were significantly increased. That's why it's better to get a good nights sleep before a test rather than studying all night. And weed obviously gives most people short term memory loss, and dreams are always hard to remember. If I smoke during the day but not at night I will remember my dreams, but if I smoke before bed, which I usually do (insomniac) I never remember them.

  7. I've never noticed it to affect my dreaming. Hell I never even knew that I had dreams everyday until I read somewhere that a lot of people forget what they dreamt. lol

Marijuana represses REM sleep. What you're experiencing when you have super vivid dreams after quitting for a few days is called rebound REM sleep. It'll fade back to normal after a few nights.

  9. Same for me!
I began my tbreak last thursday, and last night (night #3) i had such a deep vivid dream, when i woke up today i was in a state of confusion for an hour, give or take!
This always happens when i go for a tbreak, lookin forward to night #4, (wich is now in sweden btw) so im goin in for the vivid dreams atm lol
    Good night folks! :)

  12. Interfear, that sounds creepy

  13. I never dream after smoking, but whenever I use binaural beats which is about every 2-3 days, my dreams are very vivid, as if in your waking life.

The best ones are the vivid sexual dreams :ey:

  14. I know! I got a legit blowjob a little while ago lol I could feel it all

  15. Weed inhibits my dreams too. I'm not sure if it causes you to not remember, or just makes them a lot more bland though. I've recently started a T-Break and I've noticed a HUGE difference in my dreams. They're much more intense and interesting now, and I remember the majority of them. Makes not smoking not so bad actually :p

  16. I only smoke when I get periods of insomnia or joint pain. When I do I tend to forget my dreams but for a few nights after stopping I get very lucid dreams. Not only do they feel like Im awake, I can also control them, think and make decisions. The downside of this is scary dreams feel horrific and start again as soon as I fall back asleep leading to more smoking to helping me relax. The vivid sex dreams are incredible tho and usually end up in late night sex with the missus. The wierdest dream I remember was being locked in a glass box in the middle of a crowded street and no one could hear or see me!!! Scared the shit out of me!!! Ganja deffo has an effect on dreams.
