READ THIS IF YOU SEE IT, PLEASE!

Fuck yeah! The music hall is the biggest collection of fail on here.. It needs this. it needs this love and this thread needs more love so more people start listening to real CONSCIOUS music. Music that influences people to live better everyday, to make positive decisions for themselves and the people around them. The world needs to realize that its not about getting to your perceived goal, but how you get there. The majority of popular music produced today totally disregards this, setting standards for so many people who don't even realize it. You gotta have the car, gotta have the bling, gotta drink the alcohol, gotta party, gotta not care about reality, the ladies have to look a certain way. Music has become marketing. These are the messages being sent to our youth by the majority of music on tv and radio. They are literally using the human creativity of music to stop true creativity. Through this influence we all become less unique and i see it in the people around me everyday. Reggae music helped me realize these things and i hope it can for everyone else.

  11. too true. I like all styles of music, but the purity of purpose, and spirituality of reggae just can't be beat.

  12. By that i don't mean reggae is the ONLY music, but the most influential/impacting type of music ive experienced. Of course i listen to all sorts of music: folk, some hip hop, jazz, some rock here and there, ill even listen to some electronic if its real good, and i used to even be really into metal,. The point i'm trying to make is that popular music, music that people listen in the car every day, the songs that are most easily available to the general public, the songs people hear repeated throughout the day. These songs are the ones that have the negative influence. Producers push for things to be in songs that artists may not even notice, each songs main focus is making money... down to the fuckin chord progression. People have stop LISTENING to music and now just accept it for its entertainment value. If it flows well who cares right? No. Music is one of the most powerful things that exist in this world. Physical or not it has the ability to influence someone, negatively or positively. Notice all the suburban whiteboys driving around pumping fat beats, wearing the freshest clothes, acting all tough like they got something to prove? More and more everyday. Or how about the girls blowing up your facebook, glorifying liquor bottles, with 100s of pictures a week of them wasted at the club, escaping "their" reality. Fuck all these standards man. i see it everyday. im a 19 year old university student surrounded by this. These are the products of the music industry. Its all hip and cool on the outside but really all it does is provoke consumerism.

please excuse my grammar. i know it sucks.

  14. We should really try to have discussion in this thread as opposed to just posting songs we like. It doesn't strictly have to be about reggae, I just wrote my heart out on those posts and no one has anything to say?
