RATM sounds pretty much the same...always

    and f-minus ftw

  2. Ugh, why would you quote the entire first post?

Flaming Lips were pretty tight too.

  3. Lol the only respect in which Nirvana are superior to rage is vocals. Musically they're not even in the same league.

  4. Yeah Sublime are amazing, best ska band ever in my opinion.

That version is a billion times better

  6. ^^^

yeah, but about 3:30 in he goes into something else. that's when it gets better.

  7. It's Oasis... Hands down it is the Gallagher brothers. The amount of sheer hype and delivery that they created over here and in the rest of the world was massive. Not since The Beatles has there been such a band. Except Oasis sings with depth and delivery...

Liam Gallagher was the best singer of the 90's hands down. The way his voice carried and could belt out those sweltering lyrics just left you stunned. And then you have the perfect tandem in Noel, who is not only a hell of a good guitar player (being modest too), he also writes amazing masterpieces of rock when he is in top form.

Even if Be Here Now was less than stellar. The hype killed it, I mean how do you top albums like Definitely Maybe or Morning Glory? You just cant. Standing on the Shoulders of Giants and Heathen Chemistry are the end result of the Gallaghers getting way into their ego. But they then deliver back with another great album with their last.

Oasis is what Coldplay so desperately wants to be.

And to prove my point, here are some examples of how amazing Oasis really is.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rg2XXFqt_lM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rg2XXFqt_lM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

    And my personal favorite

    Honorable Mentions:

The Verve (runs a close second to Oasis. Another great band that was not afraid to experiment. And lets hope their new album is stellar)

Jane's Addiction (only some of their stuff. I find them very over rated but they still elevated their genre)

Nirvana (I guess. They did define a generation and a lot of their music is damned good if a little generic towards the end)

Smashing Pumpkins (I can dig it. They were the epitome of indie rock back in the day)

    and

The Cranberries (I just have to put them on the list because you know you want to too)

  8. rage on!

  9. i'd definiely say sublime...

rage would be second for me, and nirvana would come in third.

  10. Sublime, can you say over rated?

  11. Definitely, one of the most over-rated bands. But, they ARE pretty good...just not as good as people hype them up to be.

Another good 90s band was Pavement.

  12. Pavement was cool, I forgot about them. Thanks for the reminder!

Hey what about Mad Season, the best supergroup no one ever remembers the name of? I love this song, so 90's.

  13. Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I totally forgot PANTERA! This is swaying away from the genre's in this thread, but Pantera was definitely one of the best bands on the 90s. Dimebag was an amazing guitarist and his solo in Cemetery Gates is amazing.

  14. Yeah best metal band for sure! Dimebag Forever!

  15. And more proof that Oasis still has it.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TTvLAz2wSks&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TTvLAz2wSks&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

    I met my maker
    I made him cry
And on my shoulder he asked me why
His people won't fly through the storm
I said listen up man, they don't even know your born...

    Simply beautiful

  16. i pretty much only listen to 90's alternative so this thread pretty much rocks in my book.

    foo fighters
    pearl jam
    alice in chains
    smashing pumpkins
    dinasour jr.
    marcy playground

    but above all....

    silver chair :metal:

    Pretty much all Seattle grunge.

    Temple of the Dog
    Alice in Chains
    Nirvana
    Tonic
    Vertical Horizon
    Flickerstick
    Third Eye Blind
    Candlebox
    Dishwalla
    STP
    Rammstein
    Ministry
    Guano Apes
    Smashing Pumpkins
    Creed

  19. Tonic and Vertical Horizon left alone..... you putting Creed on your list makes me want to vomit all over myself and has officially announced that style and taste is dead when it comes to music and the youth.

Creed is perhaps one of the worst bands ever to grace this planet... right up there with Nickelback.

  20. I disagree, while far from being the best band of the 90s, Creed are also FAR from one of the worst. Scott Stapps got a really soulful voice and Mark Tremontis an awesome guitarist.

Whoever said Pantera, read the rules of the thread. The band has to have formed in the 90s, Pantera formed early 80s.
