The best ash catcher.

  1. Recently I bought a new bong and decided I should get an ash catcher for it because the last thing i wanted was bits of weed building up in my perc's. the guy that I bought the bong off suggested a simple precooler, just like this (except green).[IMG]

after about 10 -15 tokes the bong just froze mid toke and no air could get in or out of the last chamber. after close inspection i noticed that there were small pieces of bud building up in the slits on the dome perc. , in fact there were small pieces of bud throughout the entire bong! Thinking that the screen must have been damaged i changed the screen and cleaned the entire bong so it looked brand new. after about 7 - 10 tokes it jammed up again.

when I look at the precooler there is a large buildup of bud around the stem, yet the screen is still intact with no holes in it. It looks to me like this precooler is just not working for my bong.

What do you think the best style of precooler is, for your bong / ever.

  2. toro trashcatcher, but i'd bet a lot of things that say you won't drop 170 on an ashcatcher

  3. :hello:

  4. my best reccomendation is a carbon filter adapter. itll help prevent solids from passing thru

  5. yeah, having just shelled out 200 for a bong im a bit short on cash lol.

  6. get a actual quality one is all i can say. In the last 2 months I've had two break. One with 4 trees, and the other with a diffy dstem

  7. my personally favorite is the toro ufo :)

  8. I have the same one, only mine was really cheap, like 5 bucks, it's like a no name one :D

But the stem is too small for my down stem..... how do to I measure the size to find out what size down stem I need.!!>??

  9. The best way that I know of is to physically measure the inside and outside diameters of both the joints with a vernier scale, then just go to your headshop and ask the guy what hes got. U can usually pick up a set of verniers for around $50, but if you know anyone that's an engineer chances are they will have a set.

  10. I actually have that exact Molino ash catcher, and so far it hasn't given me any problems at all smoking out of it quite often...I never use a screen though since its such a shallow bowl and the hold isn't that big and if I start feeling any resistance I just clean it out with a pipe cleaner and it is good to go again.

  11. Roor "pill bottle" a/c with a slit diffy, it does the job without doing work on your wallet ;).
