Mars Hydro FC6500 Samsung LM301B LED Grow Light

Woah! I have removed the box!!! Boing! Quite possibly the mostest, bestest packing job I've seen with the open cell foam. That is my first impression! Winning! The driver looks like a new type, different from their other models. The mount for the drive has been improved and looks beefy. It comes basically assembled! Yeah! The wires that run to the bars are routed through the frame! Nice very nice! The thing looks like you can run it bent in the middle like an A-Frame. This I must try. The hinge looks solid.

Been working on the bubble bucket. I rinsed the hydroton, then I found the air pump, air lines, air stones. I think I better get a fresh bucket. I hope everybody knows you can take a home depot bucket, in any condition to lowes and exchange it for one of theirs at the contractor checkout.

I just have to hang the light in the tent and I think I'll get some fresh nutrients for the BB. Sticking with the nectar in the tupur.

    Peace my friends!!!

  3. I guess I should read the sticky notes! It is forbidden to put manufacturer names in the title. The boss caught it and corrected it for me! Thanks Rummy!

  5. no. lol.

But now that we're talking about it, I do have several of their lights, and tents because they're reasonably inexpensive and work great for a guy like me.

BTW, welcome Vee! Have a bong dude, kick back and enjoy the comedy of errors! psych

  7. Cool looking light man! Pretty interesting concept on that frame. I could think of some unconventional configurations.

  10. Make a note of when you start using the light. I have the FC4800 and was running it for 12 hours a day and my electric bill went up about $150 more than normal. That has never happened with any other light that I have.

Maybe my house wiring sucks or my electric company sucks but I had to box the light back up and it's sitting in a closet...depressing, lol. Worked like a beast, tho.

  12. they sell a meter that plugs into your wall socket then you plug in any device it tells the exact amp draw and watts maybe something else in your house was adding to the bill i personally would have checked it out before assuming it was the lights fault

  13. I do need a meter but I've lived here for the last 30 years. I know what to expect month to month over the years. Also, the electric company has a nice graph so you can see what your monthly usage is from the past year.

The month I purchased the light is where my usage started climbing. As soon as I unplugged it my bill started falling steeply.

Now it's back to normal. It sucks because I paid a lot of money for it and it was rockin' my grow.

I'll get a meter and check it out...maybe I got a bad driver and I'll replace it, it's a badass light.

  14. Welcome, Festy! Yikes! That's what mine went up for the 8-bar during summer. Are you on the "Rate to Use" plan? Because that shit does cost more.

Strike a pose! lol. Grab some champagne, B!

So,so right so n so! lol. Welcome to my corner! Hey, you reminded me that I wanted one of those meters. Amazon to the rescue!

I don't know enough about drivers and such. But I got a spider farmer light and it smells like a burnt ass when I run it. The meter should be here tomorrow! I'll test all my lights an post my finding! Ya I have a 6-bar too!!! I have a bunch of mars stuff!

  16. We do have an all new higher summer rate, yay. I set it to run at night because of heat. Not sure if rates decrease at night during the summer. I ordered the same meter and I'm moving my grow to another room. I'm going to hook it back up and see what happens. Worse case scenario I'll run a dedicated line to that room with better wiring and breaker. I need that light, lol!

  20. I'm just starting a trial run with a TSL 2000 (running it in conjunction with a SP 3000) which puts my 12/12 efforts at a hair over 600 w. Perhaps a bit of overkill for my 2 x 4 closet but since both units are dimmable I can dial things back a bit if signs of stress overshadow what I view as progress. Currently have three in full flower combined with four fresh faces still undetermined. There is a chance I may reconstruct one of my other spaces and spilt up this pairing.
Rather a long preamble to ask the question in mind. I'm wondering what this new beast you've acquired is destined for; so far you've listed mechanics and methods but not the specifics of your space or the projected headcount.
