if u want an idea of the power of inflation and the damage done increasing the money supply to much look no further than weimar germany and the hyper inflation surfered after american banks withdrew there loans to germany after the wall street crash they printed up so much extra money to pay for everything (sound familar?)that it massively devalued there currency.it got to the point that a wheellbarrow full of cash couldnt buy a loaf of bread, the money wasnt worth the paper it was printed on and what came out of ensuing turmoil?national socialism and in turn ww2
Money's definitely not the issue. People were killing eachother over gold long before there was ever currency. And why? Because it was shiny. It served absolutely no purpose. Unlike the other metals we exploit, it couldn't be used in tools, made into weapons, or used for construction. Until the invention of electronics(and even then, there are better materials), gold absolutely worthless. Yet people warred, enslaved populations, and stole over it. And why?!? nothing more than ther fact that it looks good to the eye. Much the same with diamonds. If you've never read Gulliver's Travels, you need to. It is definitely the best satire on human nature there is or ever was. We are nothing more than the yahoos with the technologies of laputans.
