The All Time Argument

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by GodSleek, Jan 12, 2009.

  1. Alright what officially happens to your brain when you smoke, i know there are alot of theory's on how you become dumb, but i have this argument all the time on how weed is so bad for me and i would like to know a good comeback to them saying that me smoking is making me retarded.

  2. I know what you mean, like what if someone is permafried? Is that really possible? I'm not so sure... I definitely don't think it makes you stupid, but it can when your high... and if you are all the time then i guess so :smoke:

  3. in recent studies at harvord (2005) test subjects who were givin marijuana actually had increased brain power the next day. its been shown to stimulate braincells.

the studies saying that marijuana kills braincells are false. the only way your going to kill you braincells with weed is through the inhilation without oxygen.

i love winning arguments when weed is involved. especially when its about weed hahah

  4. Back when I used to live with my dad I'd allways whoop his ass when it came to arguements about weed. He just gave up and let me manage my own life.

  5. Weed doesn't only not kill brain cells, it acts as a neural antioxidant and protects brain cells from radical damage.

  7. Trying to discover how people react to THC is immensely complex, given that the mapping and patterning of neurons in your brain, which vary GREATLY between individuals, are altered under the influence of THC, and therefore it becomes difficult to "measure" any sort of differentiation. You'd have to really do some thorough brain research on the topic, www.sciencedaily.com isn't a bad place to start. Go to "mind and brain", then search for THC. It should yield some interesting results :)

I think I get smarter when I'm high. I've found that the only things that occur are that I have a very bad short-term memory, and my mouth gets dry. The memory thing is actually quite interesting, because the way my brain functions (sober) to process what we define as "short-term memory", in fact changes significantly when I'm stoned.

For example, just yesterday I was looking for the butter in the fridge. But I forgot where I put it, and I have a bad habit of playing Tetris with the food in the fridge, so things are organized but so hard to get to ;). Anyways, rather than trying to figure out where I had last set it, I just remembered what color it was, and instantly I remembered where it was. It seems as if my brain is more functional through correlating my senses with memory, as opposed to time and place... if that makes sense...

  9. now is this true for everyone

  10. almost every negative attribute given to marijuana effects are now thought/known to be false.
i think weed is pretty benign, well, possibly beneficial in many ways. i think if someone believes weed causes cancer/stupidity/addiction/etc...they shouldn't smoke it. why do something you think is so bad for you?

  11. i don't know about anyone else but i seem to remember everything and can retain things much easier than before. i have been smoking everyday for like 2 years

  12. I don't care what you guys say, my friend is a DUMBASS when he is high. He tried using my work ID badge as an mp3 player. WHAT THE FUCK?!!! This kid is not intelligent to begin with, but that's just pushin the boundary am I right?

  13. im sure in the future he will win a darwin award..
yeah he must have wack tolerance. once you can handle it and you don't really get high anymore off it, you notice the benefits.

  14. I can smell Cottons coming in soon with a huge list of links.

  15. okay. butane and the device you smoke out of contribute massively to the brain cell loss.

if you smoke shit weed out of an aluminum can, your fucked.

if you smoke out of a clean bong, your not so fucked.

i admire the use of hempline in beeswax, electric wands, or glass wands, as they are better than a lighter.

    vapes are even better.

all in all, the brain cells get over worked when you smoke, they dont actually kill the cell itself, unlike every other drug, including nicotine and alcohol.

    hope this helped.

  16. Just check out Granny Storm Crow's list.. its on GC or just google for it, its an ungodly collection of links to answer various questions about medical benefits of cannabis.

  17. i actually remember reading an article where they found that marijuana does shed brain cells--but not healthy brain cells.
the "negative" effects of marijuana (negative meaning Stoned) last only as long as the high and in people who are more used to smoking barely experience ANY negative symptoms (like forgetting things, clumsiness)
beyond that a lot of people feel what they expect that they will feel from marijuana--people bring expectations from propaganda they hear growing up to their smoking experiences and this is why so many people have normal highs (with elevated heart rate) and think their drugs are laced...same reason why people have a hard time quitting. thats what they see on tv and thats what they hear it is supposed to be like.
