Thc Oil or Smoke for chronic pain ?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Roacheth, May 10, 2021.

  1. Good evening all.

this is my first time here and I’m glad I could find a forum that could help me with some questions I had.

I live in Brisbane and I currently suffer from many chronic back and mental issues (Two bulging discs, Anklysing Spondylitis, Bone Spurs descending on my L5-S1 nerve, osteoarthritis, major depression and anxiety and a form of Rheumotoid Arthritis) and I currently take 500mg of tapentadol, 300mg of lyrica, 120mg of duoxeline, 50mg of endone and a range of other anti inflammatory drugs per day with apparently more coming from specialists in the next few months....

suffice to say I worry about what this is doing to my body and I have a friend who had some edibles that I tried and while I was a little woozy I also didn’t need the above mentioned drugs for nearly 15 hours

not sure if that’s the appropriate timing or if it was a placebo effect but I’m very interested in not killing my body to not feel pain.

I found a dealer right near me using leafedout.com and she supplies thc oil or bud for smoking (is this site ok??)

Is oil the best to put in edibles or cut up bud ?
Should I smoke either of them ? I heard I can put the oil into a vape pen ?

I have a prescription pending from my doctor pending approval from the government - but checking the prices of their thc oil it’s insane how much they want....is this the right or appropriate cost ? They want $770 for 100ml...

Is that enough to help with pain ? Or do I need more ?

    Any assistance would be helpful.

  2. Doesn't really work for that kinda pain. At least not for me! Takes meds and weed for me

  3. If you're in chronic pain make edibles dude.. all you need is weed, an oven/toaster oven & whatever oil/fat you want to use :smoke:

  4. Awesome, I did try a friends gummies he made and it was great. Might get this thc oil from this dealer and give it a whirl.

  5. Hell yeah however you use weed it should help with your pain man.. I'm in chronic pain 24/7 & it helps me when I smoke/eat edibles :smoking:

  6. Any edible will work about the same.
It doesn't have to be oil.
Concentrated cannabis oil is no better than any other edible, except that it's concentrated enough that you don't need to ingest much.
You probably have a low tolerance, and won't need to eat much regular edible weight.

Dispensary edibles can be hit or miss, so you'd be better off making your own from flower.
It can be as simple as decarbing (240 F for 40 min), grinding to powder, then mixing with anything oily, along with some lecithin. More detailed instruction are available if you decide to go this routs.

In any case, edibles will last much longer than smoke.
    Both have their medical uses.

The quickest and simplest thing to do is get any dispensary edible, sativa for day, and indica for sleep.
It doesn't have to be that $770 oil.

  7. Ok cool I can do that, do it to make curry pastes all the time. Seems about the same procedure. Emulsification bring a cook comes in handy.

stavia for pain, indica for sleep got it. See what I can get. Thanks much guys.

  8. This is awesome, all the info I need.

Is 20mg of thc about what I will need per edible ?

I’ll try it and increase as needed.

I currently take 500mg of tapentadol (opiate) and 300mg of lyrica (nerve drug) and 120mg of duoxeline (nerve drug) a day and the endone Valium as needed ..... still crippled with pain at times.... so here’s hoping this can help even a little

  9. For nerve type pain marijuana works very well for me. Much better imho than pharmaceuticals. Lyrica only worked for me if I took enough to feel goofy, and goofy in not a good way. It took about 6 months of steady marijuana use and then gradually the nerve pain faded away. I was on 3 different nerve pain meds at times, none really worked.

A friend of mine recently got off Lyrica. It was very difficult and he had to wean himself off it over a long period. So be caareful, and best of luck.

  10. Many of us use BadKat's Recipe.
BadKats CannaPharm: Medical Grade Oil, Cannabis Capsules, UV GLOWING Hash Candy, Canna Bombs more
And while she no longer posts her recipe remains the best of the best. The Lecithin is used more for it's Bioavailability enhancement then for it's emulsification abilities.

While I make and use it primarily for one major "Pain" it also covers / masks / cures a whole host of other ailments that come with advancing age. That whole right shoulder, arm, wrist, hand from 30 years in construction. The bad back, the clicking hip the..... List goes on.

It's only when I stop taking it every day that all the pesky little things wrong come sneaking back and I realize just how well Cannabis improves my entire body sense.

Hallucinating Hash Capsules for Hemp Heads
My shorter take on the same Oil.

  11. I use editable on a schedule and vap for break through pain

  12. Yeah, this is what I’ve been saying to my GP. It took a long time to get her on board and even now she swears the pharma path is the best.

my only Issue now is finding a dealer somehow.... if your not from this world it’s impossible to find a dealer.... no one I know, knows someone who deals.

I tried that leafedin Site where it shows dealers near you but no one answers their pms bar one person and she refused to sell to me.

I’m really confined to my home so it’s hard to go out and meet someone face to face.

I might have to try a tor browsers and risk a delivery. My wife is willing to go face to face for me but again.... how do I find someone ?
