I've never been pulled over for speeding; until today. I was going through a KNOWN speed trap. They have cars out there seemingly every time I drive by, and it's a 35 mph hour zone. So I slow down for that part, but there is this part leaving the area where the cops NEVER are, so that's where I normally accelerate to pass all the people before it goes down to 1 lane. So I'm cruisin' along, listening to Dark Side of the Moon, windows down... just having some general driving fun when I see a cop with his lights on trying to make his way for me... seeing as i was much faster then everyone else I was by... I knew it was for me... sure enough he finally gets to me and the lights come back on. So now I'm like "Oh shit " shaking, hell I've never been pulled over in all 4 and a half years of my driving. So he asks about my vanity plate (strangely enough, it's relevent to the location I was pulled over at) and that stuff. now this cop is 5'6" big fellow (muscle), bald head... he doesn't look like one you'd want to fuck with. And then he tells me he got me clocked at 55 mph (35 mph zone) So I know I'm fucked since he was using radar specifically to find speeders... finally I find my correct registration, I had it to him with my license, and he takes a quick look and says, "well, just keep it slower from now on" and hands it back. I am so fucking releaved. I just cashed in a shit load of my good karma I've built up though, so I need to build that shit back up. But my god, here's a cop who's looking specifically for speeders and he lets me go going 20 over. Moral of the Story: a) I'm SO FUCKING happy b) Being polite helps I guess. haha... Thank god!!!
haha congrats. but yes, be polite with officers NO MATTER WHAT!!! as much as cops can get on our nerves their jobs are hard and they get shit for pay for risking their lives, and i think we have to recognize that and extend them some kindness, especially if u really were speeding. congrats tho man glad u didnt get a ticket tickets suck edit: btw i was talkin about getting pulled over for speeding not like possesion arrests, then u can get pissed lol
Oh and not to mention, I drive a red Celica and I'm a 20 year old male... that just screams "I'M A CHRONIC SPEEDER!"

Something that helps me immensly, is my PBA shield. Cops can only get 2 or 3 in their lifetime, and if you have one in your window, you can pretty much get away with everything. Im not talking about the little ones that you can pin to your walet, i mean the window ones that you suction cup on. Ive been pulled over about 5 times since getting it and everytime its "Sir do you know how fast you were, oh you have a shield, can I see your card for it (they give you a card with matching numbers so people cant steal them and use them)" Then its "im glad you support the PBA, just remember to slow it down, its for your own saftey." Then its a fake grin and Im on my way. Im lucky one of my friends became a cop, even if he doesnt smoke anymore.
Patrolmen's Benevolent Association. its an organization that i think all officers belong too, and if you have a friend/family member whatever they can give you cards or shields showing that you are tight with a cop. If you have a shield (the highest form of crap they can give you) you can get away with almost all shit) If you have a mini badge its slightly less shit Gold card is basic speeding reg card doesnt really do much. You really havent heard of this?
buy a radar. My dad got one and after some bullshit speeding ticket and it works like a charm it detects cops about 1 mile away stright line.
I guess you not being ticketed before helps too I have something like that on my car saying i donate money to my local police force and other organization shit like that got it from my brother in law and it gets me out of a bunch of shit
