Thai Grass?

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by dave_the_rave, Sep 11, 2007.

  1. Firstly, I'm new here so hey everyone

I just have a question. Me and my friends are trying to score some weed, been dry around here for a while now so we havent had much luck. One of my friends said he can get hold of some Thai Grass. I've been smoking for a while now and haven't ever heard of this. Just wondered if it's the real deal or is he talking shit?

  2. Never heard of Thai Grass, but Iv heard of Thai Stick

  3. Yeah I was wondering if he meant that, guess he mustve just got it wrong.

  4. Maybe he did mean Thai-stick, and those look fucken great.

Thai grass is probably just weed from Thailand, don't overthink it, haha. I dunno, how much does he want for it?

  5. £20 for 2.8g. We've been trying to score some for a few days now and that's all thats come up. It's dry everywhere around here.

  6. Thai sticks rule if you dont mind getting a 2.5 gram piece of wood in your bud.

  7. i get some dank bud from the grower and yea its called "thai" it may be the strain ur boy is talkin about. good smoke

  8. Only one way to find out

  9. thai weed is basicly another name for shit weed in england.

  10. well REAL THAI is totally the best shit in the world! it's what i started out smoking and after it disappeared to be replaced by nothing but twice priced indicas back in the 80s i developed a deep contempt for greedy indoor sea of green growers!

real thai first of all doesn't couchlock unless you're at it all day. it's totally active. i used to go out dancing on it until i'd get dehydrated. try that on indy beasters!

second, it's trippy as heck! oh it's just so fun to watch TV and see a newscaster look 3D. watching a great action or SFX rich film on thai kicks ass & even dumb comedies seem hysterical.

the thai i was smoking wasn't friuity like the descriptions i've read for highland thai. it smelled kind of like pinecones (like some of the other sativa descriptions i've seen) and was pale green with golden pistils. it was light and fluffy compared to resinous indica buds, but was still super potent. if you could survive 4 straight one hitters without woofing or puking your guts out or getting dizzy, you could actually see subtle hallucinations if you close your eyes.

one thing about the "thai high" that alot of people hate is it increases paranoia. i always was thinking there was some communist conspiracy to hide whatever cassette tape i was looking for etc. and driving by a bunch of cops that pulled over an 18 wheeler (lorrie for those accross the pond) practically inspired terror the first time i smoked it.

it's all totally worth it though for getting HIGH. i call indica getting stoned. sativas aren't just cerebral either as they're commonly described. they have a nice body high too. thai used to give me the sensation that i was always walking downhill and sometimes like my feet wanted to kick out as i walked or that i was getting lighter and might float away. that's why it's called getting high i think, and why i get offended when people call smoking indicas getting high.

kali mist is another cool sativa that isn't trippy or paranoid, but it's super energetic and euphoric. i coulkdn't sit down and trip out on tunes like i intended when i smoked that. i ended up cleaning the house grinning ear to ear and humming "dson't worry, be happy". it just wouldn't let me sit still. the EXACT OPPOSITE of couchlock. it nearly brought a tear to my eye after 15+ years of evil couchlock.

  11. Yeah if it's real Thai you'll probably be realllll happy with it. There's a good chance it isn't imported at all, just Thai genetics home-grown.

And pokernaut, don't blaim the SOGers, they're just filling demand. Most smokers *like* indicas (maybe not online because there are so many connoisseurs, but almost every smoker I know likes the body high) way better than even strong sativa's ("I won't by A's headies, they're way too speedy")

Me, I like them both, though in general a pure head-high is better than a pure body-high. Hybrids are just as good though; they can make the sativa-high way more relaxed and "trance-like", and also make the auditory hallucinations slow and dark like molasses moving through your cells, while a pure sativa is more like LIGHTNING and can be really scary if you aren't used to it (racing uncontrollable thought-loops and the mind-warpingness only gets greater as you smoke more).

The other advantage of sativas is that they don't have much of a ceiling. With indicas/hybrids, you eventually get to a point where smoking more doesn't do anything but maybe make the crash harder. With Sativas I've read accounts of people smoking Columbian landraces to the point that they thought they were hobbits (modern-day reports by sinsemilla landrace enthusiasts).

  12. the legendary thai stick :smoking:

i would kill for one of those branches

  13. pokernaut
i think it could've had to do something with when you first started smoking. When i first started, almost all weed gave me similar feelings like you had, everything looked cartoonish or like were in a video game, everything was hilarious, and now most of the weed i smoke is indica, which i really dont care for.

cause i was thinking the same way until i talked about how much more vivid early highs are.

  14. My brother use to get chocolate thai. It tasked and smelled like chocolate.
They also have opium dipped thai that knocks you out.

  15. no, it isn't that at all. thai was pretty much the ONLY thing around for at least a couple years, then it disappeared and the town was dry for a few months then indicas invaded and things were never the same again.

the ONLY smoking i could enjoy, was actually stomped on mexican commercial brick! sure, you pretty much had to smoke constantly to maintain a buzz, but at least it was still sativa and didn't couchlock. i'm super sensitive to couchlock i think and hate it with all my might.

actually, i've been dry most of the time for the past 3 years or so. the only bud i smoked the two years before last x-mas were eighths i was given as x-mas presents, and i didn't much care for them.

recently, i relocated to oregon for med use and let me tell you, the bud here is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better! i've smoked 3 times and vaped once, and none of the bud out here was couchlocking.

i think it's because the town i was in back east was just a bunch of greedy self centered scum whereas here, people are alot nicer and i think probably put more pride into their product whereas back east, it's all about max $$$.

even the skunk #1 i smoked back east sucked. it was no different than any other indica really. i didn't feel euphoric off it. i felt heavy eyed. i'm sure the grower selected plants with more indica phenos for max yield and probably harvested too late too. not only that, i think it was also hydro because it tasted like cardboard whereas a buddy i used to work with had super tasty leaf grown in home made compost.

the ONLY times i ever got high before i moved here were when i was GIVEN about a gram each of durban poison & kali mist by mis siter's BF. getting high again (even if it wasn't trippy like thai) nearly brought a tear to my eye and no amount of begging and pleading would let me buy any more for whatever the asking price would be sadly.

the kali mist in particular was a blast. it was TOO energetic. i wanted to trip out on tunes like i used to on thai, but it wouldn't let me sit still. i ended up cleaning my entire house (which i hate doing) with a stupid grin on my face humming "don't worry, be happy".

indica just can't do that. i can't wait to bring some oregon organic back east to show all the poor people who know NOTHING but indica beasters what getting high is REALLY like. i refuse to accept calling smoking indica getting high. it's getting LOW or more accurately, stoned.

  16. i want sum kali mist, NOW!

  17. kali-mist doesn't make so many top lists for no reason. it's #2 or #3 i think in a recent high times professional ranking.

i like trippier sativa highs, but KM is super nice too. it just makes you so freakin' happy! it's like 20 cups of coffe on christmas morning, but without the jitters.

i REALLY loved it's flavor too. it's just like smoking crushed red pepper.

it's rumored to be a favorite of the ladies, great for menstual cramps and if were on a date and wanted to get laid, i'd bring KM. get a gal all happy and frisky and somethin's gotta give. LOL

the wierd thing is, no matter how good and high rated KM is, no-one has ever done any crosses with it that i'm aware of.

if you'd like an experience similar to KM, it's alot like a good shroom trip. you just get that light happy feeling, but KM adds "i gotta do something NOW!" energy where the one shroom trip i took was blissful, but laid back & maybe just a little bit trippier. not trippy in the visual sense, but just how walking home from a concert in the rain actually felt fun. everything seemed cooler than normal.

thai does that to sounds and visuals in the extreme though. TV broadcasts look 3D, weeds blowing in a breeze look like an army of wierd headed aliens, rain looks like spears in a headlight, music sounds more realistic (important) and so on. everything just seems more visceral on thai. colors are brighter, food tastes better etc. it heightens your senses and imagination.

i THOUGHT that paranoia was a natural part of trippy highs, but some strains like burmese & apollo 11 are trippy but euphoric too.

i can't say yet, but haze skunk is starting to sound similar to KM to me except for it's sweet and fruity flavor. i can't wait to test that.

  18. My friend recently came back from Oregon with some weed his uncle was growing, and I must say...

    It was pretty damn good.

  19. The only strain of Thai that I've even smoked was Chocolate Thai back in the 1990s. It wasn't really high quality at all and had seeds. I think that sometimes people lie about the strain ( I find this to be true with most people who sell shwag, bammer, dirt, mexican, or whatever slang you would insert here.) just to sell it. I'm not saying your friend is lying, but someone down the line might have. Just so that you are aware of these bastard shwag dealers.

  20. oh man... don't get me started on punk ass indica loving beaster vendors! LOL

ever see a person foam at the mouth and go mad before your very eyes.

speaking of thai liars, that reminds me of a story. i had just moved into a new building a few years back when one of the residents who like to hang out on the stoop tried to sell me some "thai stick". whatt fuggin' idiot! he thought i'd believe that SHAKE white glued to a stick (a literal stick as from a tree!) was thai stick! LOL

just from personal experience... it happens.

you CAN still get thai if you know the right people in the right places. most likely anyone growing it is doing it outdoors in the south & california etc. the good shit doesn't travel far for sure. anyone that has it probably distributes it to a small circle of friends.

that's one of the reasons i want to go sativa dominant strains... so i can GIVE whatever i can't smoke to every stoner i meet to undermine the the indica beast.

after thai disappeared in the mid 80s, the ONLY sativa i smoked was a bud each of kali mist & durban poison GIVEN to me. no amount of begging and pleading to empty my savings could get me any more of those sadly. probably one of those friend of a friend things.

other than that, i'd rather smoke a decent mexican commercial (some aren't that bad actually) over the stickiest skunkiest (read same old same old couchlocking mortal enemy) indica bud any day.

there should be a law against indicas!
