I hope someone can help, I have several different bags of trim from last year from the CA North Coast. 1 bag for sure smelled funky and that was a no brainer, I tossed it, but if I want to make edibles that are patient safe, how can I test them for mold, mildew and or spores before making canna butter if I don't see or smell anything? It's outdoor grown weed. Black light? Microscope? Home test kits? Help?!?!? Thanks
lots of labs will test your pot in mmj states. about 150-250 seems average cost range depending on the testing done. most include the thc, cbn, cbd levels. edit: yes, there are home test kits...(google?)
I know about home THC/CBD kits,-- separate issue. I'm specifically asking for home mold detection methods for buds/shake besides what you can see with the naked eye or smell. I've been told, most labs use microscopes?1? Also, what about spores? Would infusing canna butter for 24 hrs kill them? Heat kills spores under high heat (I'm a surgical tech/instrument processor) Don't want to deal with huge expense/hassle of sending samples out. Anyone knowledgeable with these issues? Thanks~ Y
the spores and in some cases the 'germs' are not always the problem themselves...it is the chemicals they produce when killed and/or heated... no idea if they have a seperate kit for just molds, I am sure they do...but I doubt the price is any lower.
