Testicular and leg pain

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Drewstafarian, Feb 17, 2009.

  1. My roommate smokes pretty frequently. He says that about 2 months ago he started feeling a pain in his scrotum. He says there is only inflammation of the tube, not of the testicle or the penis. Also, the pain doesn't start right away, it starts about the same time as his high peaks. He says the pain spreads from his scrotum down his RIGHT(ONLY) leg and adding pressure(he said pushing on the gas pedal) causes the pain to increase. Also, the pain in his leg is only on the backside(hamstring, calf, foot).

He says that this pain only occurs when he smokes marijuana, but does not happen every time. He says 1 in every 4 or 5 sessions. The pain can be different levels of tolerability.

Is there anyone out there that can give feedback about this?

Please be objective and mature about your responses.

  2. Haha.... Testical....

    THE DUDE SAID FRIGGIN' TESTICLE!!!

No, really, on a much more mature note, I've heard of this before with people feeling odd things while high. But to be honest, there really isn't much, if any, info that could tell you whether cannabis is the cause of his pain. It may be a possibility though.

I'm interested in medicine and know a lot of general pharmacology. Hoping to enter "Pre-Med" status in a year. Anyway i'm interested in a few things:

    General Questions:

1.) How old is your roommate?

    2.) What is his height/weight?

3.) How much exercise does he get?

4.) What has his general health been for the past 12 months? Please report any prescription drugs used for any treatments (also their dosages).

    Marijuana Specific Questions:

1.) How much does he exactly smoke, preferably on a daily average?

2.) From where does he get his marijuana?

3.) What is his preferred smoking method?

    Symptom Questions:

1.) What has been used to prevent the pain, other than avoiding marijuana use? (if any)

2.) From the genitals area down to where feels pain on his right leg, is there any indication of either swelling, numbness, or bruising?

I have a general idea of what it might be or lead to but since i'm not a trained professional, my advice and suggestions should be taken with consideration. There is no replacement for a real Doctor and I suggest he schedule an appointment.

  4. Suggest he start dosing with a tincture, or eat canna butter, and cut out the smoking altogether. No vaporizing either. Then see what happens.

  5. thing is, the pain ONLY happens when he smokes weed. never EVER at a time other than being when he is high. thus you can only attribute the pain to cannabis.

This doesnt mean the pain is CAUSED by weed. But it does mean that Marijuana is the only thing that triggers the pain/reaction/outbreak...

I have smoked tobacco, and i have smoked weed. I have vaped weed as well. I have also eaten canna butter and gotten high.

I have had chest pains and head pains from smoking tobacco, from smoking weed, and from vaping weed. I have had no pain to speak of from eating canna butter.

In other words, smoking and vaping can cause weirdness. A different mode of ingestion may solve the problem. I know bad things happen when i jack with my lungs, even though I don't have asthma, or any other problem [that i know of] associated with the lungs.

  7. neral Questions:

1.) How old is your roommate? 19

    2.) What is his height/weight?5'11/155lbs.

3.) How much exercise does he get?workouts arent consistent but 2-4 times a week

4.) What has his general health been for the past 12 months? Please report any prescription drugs used for any treatments (also their dosages).Very healthy, particularly for a college student, and only antibiotics for flu/strep symptoms.
    DAILY BASIS:
    Centrum Mutlivitamin
    Equate (allergy)

    Marijuana Specific Questions:

1.) How much does he exactly smoke, preferably on a daily average?a bowl a day maybe 2 or 3 but very rarely does he go more then 1 day without smoking

2.) From where does he get his marijuana?Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, GalvestonNote: About 95% of the time, it is a heavy sativa. Also we are pretty good at telling the quality of a bud just by looking at it and we never buy "iffy" buds.

3.) What is his preferred smoking method?Either a joint(been awhile), vaporizer(when available), but on most occasions a glass, pipe no bigger than 5 inches

    Symptom Questions:

1.) What has been used to prevent the pain, other than avoiding marijuana use? (if any)nothing yet, but avoiding use has been the only method tried

2.) From the genitals area down to where feels pain on his right leg, is there any indication of either swelling, numbness, or bruising?numbness in the hamstring and calf(sometimes foot)

The first time he really told anyone about this(anyone who cares much about the situation) was last week and then after that today, being me.

  8. im not a doctor or a scientist, but since cannabis can act as an anti inflamatory maybe that has something to do with it.

just tell him to go to the dr

  9. There are some links to adolescent use of cannabis and testicular cancer. I would recommend that your friend go to the doctor and have it checked out ASAP. Your boys aren't something you want ot mess with.

  10. This is going to sound crazy but if the friend has a big wallet in his pocket on the side of the pain have him take it out of his pocket for a couple of days and see if that helps.I had simiular thing happen to me and the doctor cured it by the wallet theorie.

When your roommate smokes. Is there anything done differently when he does have the pain?

    Interesting situation.

    Questions:

1.) When your roommate was feeling the pain, what position was he in? Was he standing, sitting, lying down?

Is exactly what I had in mind. So if he's doing something that's cutting off circulation of the blood, then it's plausible to think that the reason why it increasingly hurts is because the blood pressure is increasing as the THC plasma concentration in the blood peaks, so does the pain. Since there's no blood being delivered, theres the numbness. Along with the numbness is the pain caused by the artificial blockage.

Maybe his belt on is too tight, he's been sitting on his wallet for too long, or needs a bigger pair of pants. Of course, this could lead to something a little more serious so please get back.

  12. He says that he doesnt remember if he was doing anythig differently.

but he says that typically he is sitting down and he feels the pain when lies down but it lessens the pain to go from sitting upright to lying down.

  13. What about completely standing?

  14. maybe he should stop smoking weed...

  15. he says less when he is completely standing

  16. Tell him not to worry about it for now, just to smoke standing up a little more and to walk around a little once in a while to get blood circulation going. If it still happens, report any of the new symptoms to a Doctor.

  17. Im interested in what u have in mind, I been dealing with this for the last 16yrs.

Yoo been having this for 2 weeks now, this is like the worst medical condition ever! EVERY time i smoke a j my left testicle (8.5/10 on a scale of pain), lower left abdomen (5/10), and the back of my left leg hurts all the way down (3-7/10)!! (But NOT ONLY when i smoke, comes n goes, just hurts way more) Hurts especially on the viens connecting the ball.. Went to the doctor and smoked before going, by the time it was my turn it wasnt hurting as much. He said there was nothing wrong and it happens some times.. I asked to see a specialist and he saïd no you cant your not special... I asked for antibiotics he said no.. The asshole, this is torture, donno what to do now.. ER ? He told me its only worth seeking help if its swollen (bigger) or if you see a lump somewhere.. Get a new doctor or what? Need help this sucks

Edit; Im 22 and been smoking pretty hardcore since Im 17.. Also broke my right femur (open wound) falling 20 feet around last may (2015). Hernniated disc ?

  19. I'd suspect the open wound to a broken femur may have all to do with it.....I'd go see the Doc, ASAP
