test buds

  1. how long should I wait until taking a test bud from my live plant? today makes 4 weeks exactly into flowering. can provide pics if needed

  2. you know on the average even fast flowers are 55-60 days, depending on a number of physical growing attributes, this can either go longer (say cold weather or a foul-up on a dark cycle) on the other hand there are flower or bloom enhancers that offer more blooms in general but may not necessarily speed up maturity while there are methos to do such a thing utilizing red light methods which can reduce the maturity period.
to answer your ? id say pick no bud before its time. give at least 50 days to begin tasting unless its an auto flowerer then you may want to try when you can actually smell very strong turpene aromas and notice the cloudiness coming into the trichomes. it's here that you need to make the decision as to how long to let it ripen. the thc content may be stronger prior to a final ambering of the trichomes as cannabis can eventually change chemically and not be what you wanted at all. your medication will deteriorate just like the pharmacy meds. dont forget that the taste and quality may not be recognized without proper drying and curing. the chems and the chloros will be certain to hide a flavor but you should still be able to feel the relief if the plant is getting close. test at week 6 and only after a week of drying and a little cure that puts your plants at week 7 and you will know if you need to start flushing to harvest by 8,9, or 10. take a sample on week 7 as a compare and repeat proceedures. just dont push it too far or you will end up with reactionary plants either wanting to reproduce or herm by other means and seeds can appear, or possibly it would start to loose quality. good luck to ya!

  3. Too early. It's still probably mostly hairs, not true bud, right? Couple more weeks might do it.
