Just 1984 type shit. first graders need to go through these simulations? wtf? when your that young its hard to control your imagination and think things are fake/real, know what i mean? Or like you might think that those kinds of incidents happen often. Then you grow up in fear but the govt there to help you kinda thing. it just seems a little extreme. they def should of toned it down a bit.

Unless I'm mistaken, I did not see any children in that video. I think it was all adults, probably military personnel.

if i was one of the people on the ground i would have been groaning something incredibly silly so that the swat guys hear it and get their realism dosage lowered a little bit lol
I watched it about five times, there's no children in that video, although there may be a recording of children screaming being played in the background. The parents, teachers and school board would have raised hell if kids were subjected to that.
Notice the tape on their arms? all subject to be a part of the program. if they didnt have tape on their arm and were running around AHHHHG GGGHGHG IM SCARED I WANT MY MOMYYY FSJHFHSDGHDAK ... the cops would immediately put a hold on the deal to get that person escorted.. its clearly a training - "thing"
They are adults DRESSED like children. Look at the one in the back, she's as big as, or bigger than, some of the SWAT team members.
I dont even see how this is necessary at all. The swat or whatever should be trained enough to have a strategical advantage in the event of a case like this. So I cant see them benefiting from his too much. As far as the kid(s) and participating adults go though, its just scary, and is trying to desensitize them to their rights getting taken away. They were essentially playing counter strike in the school, I saw the students following him and couldnt help but think that I would hear, "the bomb has been planted" over the intercom.

Terrorism is using fear to further a political gain. Whether it is their intention or not, the people who would choose to perpetrate something like that video on our children are terrorists. They hope to scare children and families into acting or voting a certain way, or accepting huge military budgets, to prevent something like that from happening in real life. It's psychological torture. It's the same as water boarding. Simulating death/trauma in order to soften the recipient to suggestion. Then after the "simulation" you give them a scripted presentation on why what just happened happened, and how to prevent it from happening again and it really has impact. "Little Johny Public, we just did that to you because your parents [XXX]. You can stop it from happening again. Here, give this red, white, and blue pamphlet to your parents."
How exactly is this terrorism? It's clearly a training exercise. Whether this training will be used to protect the citizens or hunt them down remains to be seen but you can't just assume things without any proof. All of the people in that video had armbands which means they obviously knew what was going on. Sure, there's corruption in the government and cops abuse their power but you can't expect SWAT teams to deal with these types of threats without any practice.
I didn't see kids in the video. If there aren't kids subjected to participating, then it's one thing. But if you start doing this kind of thing in front of kids, then it's terrorism. It's like "Duck and Cover" from the Cold War. Do you really think if the Soviets struck the US with the full brunt of their arsenal, that climbing under a wooden desk and putting your hands over your head would save you? No. It's ridiculous. But Duck and Cover wasn't about actually saving children's lives, it was about indoctrinating children to fear Soviets enough to grow up into good soldiers and good taxpayers who won't question why we need to be able to destroy the Soveits 10 times over. Terror drills are the same thing. They aren't there to save lives. If a terrorist goes into a school to kill children, not much anybody is going to be able to do to stop it without putting armed terror response squads in every school. By the time SWAT gets there, the shooters will all ready have killed many children. And practicing response in public and putting videos on Youtube only gives away counter-terrorist tactics to the would-be bad guys so they can adapt their strategies to stay ahead.
