I was looking through some statistics about the amount of marijuana that police have eliminated, and they divide it into several categories. Aside from the fact that 98% of eliminated weed is just feral hemp, I found it interesting they subdivided it into "tended feral hemp", more or less ditchweed that people take care of. Having myself a sizable amount of this in a patch behind the house, I was wondering if it was in fact at all worthwhile to invest any time tending it, i.e. culling the males/fertilizing. Actually more than that I was wondering if anyone has actually attempted this, as I can't seem to find any definite answer here when it comes to "tended" ditchweed. I realize that the genetics aren't going to be good and it's going to be schwag even if I was to hypothetically get a crop, but... schwag's not so bad sometimes. I'll smoke a joint and not get that high, just tired, and when I want to sleep there's where I want to be. And 9/10 I'm smoking to help me sleep eventually, so it wouldn't be so bad.
The natural prograssion of the plant is to grow, pollinate, drop seeds and grow again. By tending the grow, you can remove the males before they pollinate the females, this will ensure an all female grow with lots of bud. I would definatley tend to the garden.
Oh yeah, that's defintely true, but this is all feral hemp; ditchweed. Originally cultivated for its fibers rather than its psychoactive component. However, some sources say that that THC content is a significant amount. Others say no way. I was curious. Still, hash would be viable correct?
either way if you cull the males, the mj plant will put it's energy into making resin instead of seeds. so even if it's the shwagiest shwag, if you pull the males it'll be better.
dude if you grow this bud it will be better then buying a nick of schwag off the street it all depends on the grower and how much love he puts into his mj plant.
Yeah, and the thing about it is I'd end up with an absurd amount of it. This field is quite sizable. Granted it'd be quite a task to cull all the males and I might miss some, but, eh, it's better than nothing.
man, does feral hemp look exactly like regular weed in terms of leaf shape and whatnot, cause i once found a patch of something which looked like weed, but on the fan leaves, it had rounded leaf spikes and tips rather than pointed ones. Because if this is wild hemp, i think that i will just go down there and tend to it, see if i cant grow some shit weed or maybe just kill the males and plant some other seeds from real weed with the hemp.
I have been talking to a grower in my area that has a strain that he has been growing in our climate for 14 years he lets it polinate every year and sometimes he will bring in a dank strain to cross polinate with it like two years ago he brought in two ak48 males and let them do there thing, so the strain is very used to are area i was thinking of gettin a cupple hundred seeds and starting to plant them in random spots to get a feral dank infestation going on in my area. What do you guys think?
Me and my friends had an idea of going out on april 20th with a whole bunch of bag seeds, smoke weed all day and go find places to plant the seeds, maybe we can put some nice clones in a good place...
I used to come across patches like that. Dunno about tending it. I would point out that if youve alot in one spot, there is likely to be more in the area. You might have bad luck keeping those girls from pollinating, even if you get every male outta your "garden" to you all
