  1. is growing in 80-90 degrees doable

  2. Yes it is, don't think it's not. It wont be as efficient as optimal temps but you can still grow impressive buds in the heat.

  3. Almost certainly it is if you keep humidity high, and follow Vapor Pressure Deficit chart.

  4. How you reckon weed grows in the tropics where it's 95 before daylight?
    Keep ye roots cool

  5. okay just wondering cause everyone always acts like it’s the end of the world

  6. Not at all, also a good tip... use silica throughout veg.. they will take the heat much better.

  7. Because most serial posters work purely on theory rather than experience. Weed grows in a wide range of environmental conditions, things don't have to be optimal to grow descent buds, they just grow a bit better when temps are perfect.

  9. lol, there it is.

Too high for what? Can you tell me what tradgedies will occur at that temp, other than a bit of yield reduction.

  10. For me, at the bottom of the pot its 62F to 64F, and at the top of the plant when lights are on its 72F, and RH 75%. Really, if you want to grow stress free plants you have to get your temp and humidity in line. Oh' sure I hear that craziness all the time, that plants outside get real hot and it doesn't bother them, but indoor heat ain't never going to be anything like outdoor heat, indoor heat is way more suffocating to a plant than outdoor heat will ever be, barring we get hit by a meteor, LoL!

  11. This horrible looking bud came from mid 80s-90 degree tent lol.
Though roots were nicely covered/cooler due to canopy catching most all of the light/radiant heat. 20190323_114813.jpg

Maybe it would have been bigger and better at 70f, but it sure as hell dont taste/smoke bad.
Everyone has some kind of issue in their grow. If temp is the only one you have, feel lucky.

  12. "Other than a bit of yield reduction"

Just that. Worth while trying to cool the room a lil bit then no?
My temps were getting over 80f when I added a second light so I added another fan in the tent and another duct fan taking air out. Now I'm hovering around 60-76f.
Only cost me 30 bucks and I think that helped start some nice purple colours and also helped keep the rh down below 50%.

  13. how do you go about using silica?

  14. how is that horrible looking lol? or was that sarcasm

  15. Just a wee bit of sarcasm laddy lol

Take things from here with a grain of salt. Though yes optimal temps can help to contribute to optimal buds, there are hundreds of factors that contribute to the smoke at the end.
Hell, if you dont dry and cure even the best grown buds right, you wind up with mid grade smoke, or even worse, moldy bud.
Just grow for you, see how your plants react to your conditions and work from there.
If in hydro though, worry about water temp more than anything. High temps there will absolutely fuck your grow.

  17. Them sure are perdy!

I agree that it is worth the effort to cool your grow as much as possible though.

  18. Re high root temps, just use a very airy free draining medium and pump shit loads of air through it (super coarse perlite is good) My root temps never drop below 85 degrees  and my roots are white, healthy and smell fresh. Root pathogens require more than just high temps to ruin a crop, put in other hurdles eg. - low water retention in root zone + plenty of fresh, O2 rich air and the roots will be fine at high temps.
