Telling the parents about a tattoo (hahaha)

Discussion in 'Tattoo, Piercings and Body Art' started by laxphenom, Oct 7, 2007.

  1. So, this last monday i went out and got a tattoo (descent sized hawk, kind of high on my shoulderblade). It'd been something I'd always wanted, but not told anyone about really as I never knew what I wanted or where. So, just this year everything's kind of fallen into place for me, so I called one of my best buds, made a couple trips to the tat place and followed through. The fun part will be now I get to tell my family....It won't be that bad, seeing as I'm 21 and going to school nice and far from home. BUT, it should be funny because my brother started with one tattoo on his shoulderblade (same place pretty much) and now his ENTIRE back is tattoo'ed. Not just that, but my parents won't be expecting it from me. So, I just thought I'd share what's going down tomorrow when I make my weekly call home. Should be interesting/funny.

  2. Nice dude, that sounds just like my first tat. I got a half sleeve/shoulder pad of tribal, none of my friends ever thought that I would get a tattoo and couldn't believe I got such a big one as my first. I wanted a big tribal piece after I saw Kimo fight years ago, and now that I have one and love it, I know I'm gonna be getting a lot more.

  3. got a pic of it? i heard tats are pretty expensive.....

  4. A hawk? Couldn't think of anything better? Hahaha. Just kidding man, a hawk will be a great old man tattoo when you get older, almost like a prison tattoo.

  5. I didn't have to tell my parents about my tat. It was pretty self explanatory.

  6. Tats arent all that exspensive, I have 4 not one of them cost more than $250 US, and they are good sized with incredible detail. The most recent I got, was 2 black hearts pierced with a single arrow, and it reads 2 hearts 1 beat

  7. Damn bro...

Tribals and chinese symbols are so common, I hate them. When I get my tattoo, I'd have to get something meaningful...

I'm planning on getting something with the airforce done possibly. I've got time to think, but props on the tat. Hope you like it!

  8. Gettin inked is an addiction, from what I hear. Once you get one you will want to get more and more. Im planning on getting my first one one soon..

  9. haha so i was talking to the parents tonight and my the right time didn't come up w my mom, so i didn't tell her. It did come up with my dad however. He thought it was cool, and didn't really care....he asked if i told my mom and i said no and he said he sure as hell isn't telling her haha so now I have to. that's the part that worries me but whatever. My family's weird (Like my sis will make me hide it from my nephews and shit). Oh well. And yes, i love my tat....as soon as i get more computer literate i will put a pic up of it. I'm also deliberating getting a small animal on the other shoulderblade for the hawk to be going after....kidding, for now. I'm glad to be able to perpetuate the cycle and in another 20 or so years be another middle-aged dude with a bird tattoo. Night all
