Telling my roommate.

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Dem0nshroom, Sep 24, 2010.

  1. Hey guys I have been a long time lurker here. And I thought it was about time I made an account. So I guess with my first post, comes a question.

I have been smoking for about a year now. And its my freshman year of college. My roommate is one of my best friends from high school. The thing is though, hes very anti-drug. He never knew I smoked in high school. And its only a matter of time until he finds out, what with me being around him almost all the time now.

I came up with the idea that it would be easier to tell him I smoke, than for him to find out for himself. I dont want to lose him as a friend over this. So i'm looking for any suggestions.

  2. Is he religious? haha
my best friend is straight up christian and he's always a mad dick about it
and how "i have to stay on 'the path' for christ to accept me..." etc and all that bullshit lol
he says he'd never try weed because "it's illegal, and defying the government is against god" LOL
so i guess if he's not religious and just a pussy, you could maybe perhaps change his mind about the whole weed thing
maybe with a good smoke-up :bongin:

Try stearing a conversation to it to gauge his opinion.
I guess he didnt realize the church used cannabis too. And as far as the god government thing...

Its a wonder he passed high school

  4. Leave your bong out and if he notices it just be like "yeah, I smoke" you gonna take some bong loads with me?

  5. No hes not religious.

I think the main reason why hes against it is because its illegal, and he believes all the propaganda.

I do like the conversation idea though, i'll have to give it a try.

  6. Right? I've always tried to have philosophical conversations with him, but the points he brings up are just straight up retarded.
Whenever I mention fallacies in the bible, he starts to get really insulted
I told him my views on the world today, on religion, and the state of economy...etc
which he proceeded to say back to me that "everything that I believe in is what he thinks is wrong with the world today."
    Fuckin' people, man.

  7. If you're buddy is going to disown you for smoking weed then he isn't your friend. If you're asking about how to deal with him as a room mate, technically unless you own the lease you're screwed. You have to live under his standards too, if he doesn't want you smoking in the place then you can't. If this is a dorm then he could just easily report you.

I still don't see why you would want to keep a 'friend' that doesn't accept you for who you are.

  8. Make him watch The Union

We live in the dorm buildings on campus.

Well we've been friends for a really long time. And he wouldn't disown me or anything, its just it would make things awkward and thats what i'm trying to avoid.

Well we do have Netflix for our Xbox. I suppose I could just put it on when hes in the room. hahaha

  10. Dude good idea man haha I got my girlfriend's mom to watch The Union too
when they were like "how many people has marijuana killed?"
    she was like "50,000?"
and when they were like "none" she was like "ooooh!", then sat down and watched the rest. haha

  11. Try to briefly educate him on how weed is not a drug.. Im also quite anti-drug, keep man-made shit away from me. Weed is simply just not a drug, in my opinion.. It's completely natural and cigarettes or alcohol are far worse.

All you can do really is just do your best to persuade and educate him. Opinions, especially about things as delicate as this, are quite hard to change. If he's your best friend, Im sure he'll understand you one way or another. ;)

    Peace and love,
not hard drug and self-destruction. :smoke:

Idk, Im high. Good luck all the same. :)

  12. Weed is a drug and alcohol and tobacco are just as natural as herb. Sorry to burst your bubble.

  13. Some dont want to risk jail

How is he your best friend?

It is a drug, but not a hard one. If it gets you high it has to be a drug. Its the safest and probably the most beneficial drug, but a drug nonetheless.

Sorry. It kinda annoys me, just like when I see alcohol and/or drugs.

    That pisses me off

  14. Definitely make him watch The Union. If that doesn't work tell him to stop being such a square.

  15. Just a warning against this, this will not work on someone who is decidedly against it.

  16. Have you slapped your friend in the head recently?

"It's illegal and defying the government is against god..."

My how our government still manages to brainwash people into thinking that WE are fullfilling the desires of a god.....

  17. Alright, I've definitely been proven wrong, but you get my gist. No? Oh.. Okay, well. :( Try it anyway.

  18. Agreed.

It's your life, who gives a fuck what he thinks. If he doesn't approve of your smoking and no longer wants to be your friend because of it, that's his problem and he wasn't much of a friend in the first place. Even if he still remains your friend, what you do on your own time is your business and you shouldn't need anyone's approval for that.

  19. There is absolutely nothing to be gained by trying to be someone you're not for someone else. Live your own life. If you're friends can't get next to that then they're not your friends, they're selfish pricks that demand people conform to their ideals. He's been your friend all this time you've been smoking and the only thing that'll change is his knowledge of it. If he can't see past that then fuck him.

  20. Organized religion is nothing but a means for the people in power to retain power over your mind and money.
