I went with my gut, and im flying real high right now man!

Gonna watch the blues brothers, in a few mins :D

So thanks for helping me with my decision :bongin:

    :D

  2. roor=overpriced

  3. Don't get that

Go to aqua lap technologies and get a sg,2011bc or syn piece instead you'll be much happier

  4. Go with something else, RooRs are nice but they're waaaaay overhyped imo. You could get something a lot better for the same money you'd spend on that I bet, but if it's what you want, go for it.

  5. roor sucks. get an illadelph - even with a triple ash catcher, i've knocked it over twice, HARD, and it hasn't blinked an eyelash. Or US Tubes, their glass is also hella thick.

And since you said you never bought a bong before, here's what to look for:
1- make sure it is glass on glass, ie, no plastic parts!
2- colored is pretty, but clear is easier to clean!
3- a thick bowl is important so it isn't too hot to touch after a toke!
4- the hole in the bottom of the bowl shouldn't be too big or say bye bye ground meds!
5- a catch to elevate the ice (yes, you want the neck FILLED with ice <3 ) so the stack of ice doesn't sit on your downstem
6- the wider the base, the less likely it will fall when bumped

    Happy shopping!

  6. thanks dude, i have no clue really just wanted some thing simple, easy to maintain and something that can order from the UK.

thanks as well, as i dont know much about glass i figured going for something that is well situated and spending a bit more cash (remember the tax man gifted me the money so its not like im actually spending money! :D) would get me something quality without having much knowledge.

  7. Thanks alot!

  8. How much does the Roor cost?

  9. £170 with 18.8mm bistable joint or £160 with 29.2mm

the cost bump is for more glass around the joint?

its called a Roor Zumo 4.2 orange label

  10. No problem! Post what you end up picking - I'm always interested in pieces. Actually I'm jealous you're shopping for one! Won't need to buy one for a while myself so bong shopping is now a spectator hobby for me ;P

  11. I'd go with the Roor, unless you have a spare 300+ to get a Toro or something. Roor's aren't the absolute best but still some high end glass. I'd buy a Roor for that price any day. :smoke:

  12. Thanks man, the tax man gave me £211 so i can buy a bong and get a quarter, that is if this drought round here ever clears up!

  13. percolated

In that price range, I'd buy an innerfire worked beaker. But, you could also just look around that shop there and see what they've got. A roor is a piece of the past, bought by collectors who cherish the name; they are low function, zero art, high cost tubes. The innerfire list in the link is a bunch of high art tubes for around the same price, but I'm sure there are some great tubes hidden around that site (even though it's horribly set up).

    Don't get a roor.

For a simple starter tube I'd suggest looking into EHLE, Black Leaf, Glasscity, Molino, or Weedstar. All way cheaper than Roor and all available at the GC shop. Seeing as it's your first tube, I suggest getting a cheap WS because chances are your going to break it and you'll be glad it was a WS and not a $300 Roor.

EDIT: The Innerfire tubes are sick but again, I would avoid something like that until your confident you can properly take care of your glass.

  15. thanks guys, i know it sounds strange but i get kinda overwhelmed when looking at the cheaper stuff cause there is sooooo much to choose from. Im not really bothered about it being arty, i just want it to be functional and easy to keep clean.

There is just so much stuff at the £0-£100 i dont know whats the difference between them, and why bother spending £90 when you can spend £30 for the same thing with a different name  so i was trying to bypass it by going up the ladder some and hoping for brand name quality.

all the help is much appreciated!

    :D

  16. If you want a simple name brand piece youll overpay. I fell like its only worth buying a big name brand if your goin with something more tech. Weed star is probably your best bet. If your looking for glass that will last forever get a US.

  17. Thank you both!

  18. lol illadelphs are not better than roors...if you buy a 3.2mm one than the glass would be weaker but you get what you pay for, but they have 5mm 7mm and such. Ive hit some illadelphs that are straight garbage, and i picked up from this dude and he had a broken illadelph so dont say they dont break...im not saying roors are the best but they are up there.....i have multiple brands of glass and have hit many, i dont know why people feel the need to trash a quality glass maker because they have another brand, acting like they are the red headed step child struggling for the spotlight...roor clearly has done something right to get where it is, if it was not quality glass then why are they so well known?

  19. good point, something had to be right, right? :D
