techniqes to cool smoke?

Are there any other ways other than using cold water and ice or adding percs and stuff to cool the smoke, when i use cold water in the bong it is smoother as long as you suck slow but when you exhale its hot as fuck probably one reason is because its acrylic with metal slider so it heats up faster but i only pack hits at a time so it really doesnt (still will get hotter than glass though because glass has lower specific heat) unless you pack it more than half full. I full up the bong up to the point where the stem is a good 1/4" underwater but id rather not add anymore because it seems like I get less high or something like it filtered too much thc but anyways whats some good cooling methods
