tech question

    would a bad hdmi cable cause random green and red pixels to appear all over the screen, its an lcd tv, got it new 3 months ago

    Possible. What device is it connected to?

    Have you tried a) A different cable or b) A different TV?

    Could be. But the only way to know for sure is to try another cable or TV.

    All over the screen, moving? Yes.
    All over the screen, stationary? No.

    If the erratic pixels are staying in place, it's a problem with the TV; the cable is incapable of screwing with absolute locations on the screen. If the pixels are fluttering all over the screen, it could possibly be a signal problem in the cable. Cables don't generally go bad though (especially HDMI), so it's unlikely. Definitely try another cable or another device (like a blu-ray player instead of the Xbox).
