Ok so there are two scales for measuring ppm/tds but HOW TF do you know which scale your pen uses?! Can't find it anywhere on box and have tried Google but can find ZERO answers as to how I tell which scale my pen uses can someone please explain?! There is big difference on optimum ppm for my nutrient line depending on if I'm using 500 scale or 700 any input would be awesome thanks guys!
All ppm is an expression of electrical conductivity (EC). If you set to 500 then an EC measured as 1.0 will be displayed as 500ppm. If set to 700 then the same solution measuring an EC of 1.0 will display a ppm of 700. So it really makes no difference which scale you use. Hope that helps!
So can I simply say forget the ppm tds and use ec only? My nutrient line gives numbers for both scales and ec so yeah it just confuses tf outta me for some reason
