TDS and pH meters?

  1. How many of you find a need for them using organics? And do you need them with a water only soil or a full organic line like Earth Juice or Botanicare, is it not okay for pH to go slightly up or down? Thanks for your input.
  2. I haven't had to use my pH/tds meter for over a year now, but it is nice to have one available to occasionally check your runoff. When growing with dry fertilizers in a water only type soil mix, with a healthy microbe colony, pH usually isn't much of an issue.

If you are going to take your organics to the next level and start making FPE's (fermented plant extracts) and other inoculants using EM-1, a pH meter is a must.

To keep it simple, set up your soil mix with dry organic fertilizers, a good mineral mix, and some good quality compost(Fresh EWC is perhaps the best). The compost will have the microbes needed to start with, and with a couple of tea applications in veg and flower you shouldn't have to worry about pH. Your pH will shift accordingly as the plant's nutrient needs are met.

  3. Thank-you
