Tap root showing

  1. Ok. I started germinating a seed yesterday and just checked it and the taproot is starting to show. Just a little but you can see it. How long should I let the tap root get before planting it in my cup? Is now a good time? And if so, following the germination guide sticky, I should wet the soil till there is run off, let it soak for 15 or 20 minutes, and then cover it to keep the moisture in correct? And then once it sprouts remove the cellophane right?

  2. well you don't need the cellophane and all that i just usually get the soil moist wait till the tap root is out a bit and plant it in the soil and it usually pops its head above the ground in a day or two.

  3. mmm id say leave her overnight in the towel and in the morning she should be ready she just needs a tad more :)

  4. Thank's brother.

  5. After you put it in soil, you can us a sandwich baggie over the cup until it pops from the soil. It keeps the moisture in. Really works well.

    Just my two cents.

    Peace. Please.

  6. Don't let it go too long, or you'll shock the roots. Can set you back in growth, or kill it outright.

  7. Yea thats the thing i hate when germinating you can't have a really busy day or two because if you leave them in there too long they start to move really fast. lol

  8. I have to work tomorrow and I work 10hr shifts so I went ahead and planted it. I don't have to be at work till 10am but still didn't feel like getting up early enough to mess with it. And I don't get home till a little after 8pm. I think it should be fine. Had a little trouble getting in the hole right side up. I dropped it in and it landed upside down lol. So I took a tie like you get on a loaf of bread and gently turned it over the best I could. I just hope the hole wasn't too deep. I tried to make it about 1/4 deep but it may have ended up a little deeper. Guess I will find out in a day or 2. I know tomorrow I will be dying to get home to see if I can see any kind of sprout coming up. If it don't work out, I still have 4 more White Widow, an Afghan Kush Ryder, and a Blue Widow.
Germinating it worked out fine though as far as putting it in a paper towel. I put it in a zip lock bag and sat it on top of my computer. Sprouted the tap root about 24 hrs later. So that worked out good. Hopefully the rest will too!
I mixed FFOF with some Sunshine probably about 60/40. I'll see how that works out. When I transplant it will be 100% FFOF. Next seedling I do I think I will try 100% FFOF and see how that goes.
