Tangerine Dream Wont Bud

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by SMOKE O'PLENTY, Oct 1, 2011.

  1. Hello, Not sure what the problem is. I have a Tangerine Dream from Barney's Farms which I started in May. It's already Oct and even though it has had female hairs since the middle of July, it has not started budding. This strain is advertised as having a remarkably short flowering period but mine looks far from it. I'm in So Cal and growing outdoors. This plant has always gotten plenty of sun. My other plant is Violator Kush also from BF is coming long nicely and should be ready in a few weeks.

  2. Just hang in there and pray the weather stays all good :).

    Freak
    :smoke:

  3. How did the tangerine dream work out for ya I'm having same issue now

  4. TD grew wack for me outdoors in SoCal. I had some really leafy buds, and really small but trichome COVERED calyx's. I call bullshit on short flowering times, as these took a while to finish. The original mother I think took 3 months, buds were dying off, and it still didn't look finished; cut it for hash. I think the TD is just a touchy plant, which led to my problems; I didn't zero in on what it wanted and instead fed them same as everything else and it might be that its not well suited outdoors. I'm having much better success in hydro (now that I've finally stopped mucking up hydro) then I did with any of the TDs in soil; but it could also just be the fact that growth is accelerated in hydro.

Its sativa, so short flowering makes no sense; let it continue but check for light leaks. If your outdoors, well, pray the weather stays nice. I just pulled the last TD clones a few nights ago myself.

  5. I'm indoors just checked for light leaks made a few adjustments and we will see if that resolves it if not maybe its a dud I don't know it's hard to chop a beautiful plant if there's still a chance

  6. Theres no such thing as a dud; theres a reason for everything. For a dud, it needs to be so badly mutated it can't enter a VERY important phase of its life.
As with us, plants base stuff on relativity. If it doesn't start flowering now, you can raise light hours to 18/6 or higher for a short while, then dunk them back into 12/12 or even 10/14; When I threw some plants out during the height of outdoor hours from 24/0 they still flipped flowering before rightening back into vege a couple weeks later(led to all sorts of problems when the short revege flowered again... last time I do 24/0 before throwing them out). Start feeding more P/K than N if you havn't already.

    DONT CHOP!

  7. Ive never has this problem before I flushed em real good today and gave a nice dose of bloom nutes I never give veg nutes I let them live off soil then flip em hopefully this solves problem I did try different soil but I had these ladies 9 weeks already they growin and got puny pistils

  8. 9 weeks in flowering, nothing but tiny pistils? Terrible luck man. I dunno whats up then, if your indoors and giving the right nutes. Temp and pH fine? And with no light leaks I don't see why they shouldn't bloom.

    What lighting are you using?

  9. heres some TD smells just like the name..

  10. Lucky SoB you got NUGS! But yeah, the one thing I can say that was good about the TD is the stink. I really must have messed up somehow if you pulled that while mine looked, well, off. Haha. But even so that citrus came through! Wouldn't mind a whiff of yours though, hahaha

  11. 400w hps brand new bulb all nutes I use I've always used for 5 years everything's the same I'm assuming I had a light leak or to much N holding back flower I'm stumped they are still growing very nicely but flowers are not

  12. Odd. The only thing I thought that maybe there wasn't enough light; but there is with that and you know what you are doing. Keep us updated? Im interested to know if they flower or not, or if you cut em. I mean, they stretch before hitting flower using alot of N right? And I know I've fed vege nutes on a plant that was in flowering. Can N really hold back flower? I'm running my second to last TD clone indoors atm and its been a week and a half and no flowering signs (but, its stressed the hell out with SM and RH issues); hope I don't have the same problem, haha.
