  2. Have you grown outdoors in FL before?

  3. No sir. First florida grow. First grow in almost 10 yrs actually :)

  4. While nothing beats local knowledge I'll pass along what is needed in Southern California to get a clean pest free crop.
    Green Cure = Powdery Mildew.

Potassium Bicarbonate. Used extensively on grapes for PM. Hydroponic shop

BT (Bacillus Thuringiensis) = Caterpillars. Local garden center.

Caterpillars are by far the biggest threat we have when growing outside. The adult moths lay eggs every night and the newly hatched larva crawl into the forming buds and start their damage.

Eating and shitting every dot of worm crap causes a spot of mold. By the time you harvest it's all ruined.

I run a low power 15 watt bug zapper close by and it's got the grills chopped out and I brush out the dead every morning as it's my gauge on how bad the moth infestation is. Really bad I'll spray BT twice a week.
BT is a biological not a chemical poison and the catties has to eat some treated leaf to ingest the toxin.
Organic rated and destroyed by sunlight in a few hours it's the best control with the least risk possible.

I run a mostly naturalized grow and don't use anything but Cure and BT now as I don't need to. The few mites that might show up soon get eaten by a passing Praying Mantis or a Ladybug. Both are thick in my yard so I don't disturb the natural predators.

  5. 15605238909508266563032171343144.jpg Whoa so much info! Ive been watching for caterpillars theyve done a number on my tomatoes! I love the bug zapper idea im gonna try that... Iused this for my veg garden and one dose worked wonders! Opinions on using it on my ganja??

  6. The problem with growing outdoors in FL is the humidity - it can't be controlled and it's very high especially in the summer. I've lived here my whole life and the humidity can be 95% when it's not raining during the rainy season in the summer. Bud rot will be a real possibility.
    Good luck.

  7. Hey Tampa, you’re trying what I’ve failed at for many years.
I’ve never had any luck here. I’ve been here all my life as well. Those caterpillars are a bitch and, well, I don’t even consider growing outside anymore. It was probably 10 years ago I tried for the last time.
Good luck and be sure to let us know how it goes.

  13. Is there any light source that could be shining on the plants after sundown?
