Hello everyone. I am interested in choosing a new political/philosophical quote to put in my GC signature. But since I'm really at a loss, I'd rather turn it to the members of GC politics to see what interesting quotations or musings that you are willing to throw at me. I don't have any strict guidelines -- it should be interesting and/or thought provoking if possible. And, if you use reddit, I will give some reddit gold if I like your quote. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
"What difference at this point does it make!?" -Hillary Clinton No but in all seriousness maybe it isn't meant for you to have a quote right now until one comes to you naturally. That's what I think.
"To have the truth in your possession you can be found guilty, sentenced to death" Peter Tosh “We learned a long time ago that we should never subject ourselves to the schedules of the powerful. We had to follow our own calendar and impose it on those above.†Subcomandante Marcos
"I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. ... No, I think I could." Glenn Beck
Anything in here is a good start: http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/289513.Benjamin_Franklin But, then you could also try these: http://jpetrie.myweb.uga.edu/TJ.html Or even these: http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/361839.Patrick_Henry http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/57639.Thomas_Paine http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/1244.Mark_Twain Hope it helps, those last three are some of my favorites, but there's plenty to choose from there!
“A body of men holding themselves accountable to nobody ought not to be trusted by anybody.†Why thanks. I think I might have found one I like from there. “A body of men holding themselves accountable to nobody ought not to be trusted by anybody.†― Thomas Paine
Definitely. It's a great thing too. I've been seeing a lot of people who normally not critical of government actually getting pissed off.
It depends if he owns a reddit account or not. I like everyone elses suggestions as well. thanks for helping me
"I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery, but I'm pleading with you with tears in my eyes....if you fuck with me, I'll kill you all." or "Find the enemy that wants to end this experiment in American democracy and kill every one of them until they are so sick of killing that they will leave us and our freedoms intact" Wise words form the illustrious and arguably the most revered Marine General in modern times. General Mattis.
