Taking Care Of Your Weed

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by Noctowl, Sep 24, 2014.

  1. Hey everybody

So I've been smoking for about half a year now and buying Gs through a coworker and close friend. I'm upping my next purchase to a quarter, so for the first time since I started I'll have weed around for more than a day or two. My question is, are there any tips for taking care of it and making sure it doesn't grow mold, or get dry? How long can weed just sit until it starts to lose its original potency? I usually store my weed in two ziplock bags, but I'm thinking about putting the q in a couple pill bottles I've collected from previous deals.

    Thanks!

you should keep you weed inside mason jars for best smell proofing and to prolong the life span and to keep quality i also recommend boveda humidity packs they keep your bud at the perfect humidity and make that taste o so nice bovedainc.com/ other then that keep it out of direct sunlight and you can also looking to curing if your really interested in learning about weed (it's awesome)

  3. I second the mason jar suggestion, and boveda packs are a boon. you can always check local smoke/cigar shops, they typically carry stuff with secondary cannabis application. butane, boveda packs, etc, so it helps to have an immediate market option for supplies.

if twisting a jar lid is too much, you could always look into emma jars, the glass ones with the soft plastic seals in the lids so it seals and all you have to do is lift the lid.

there really isn't any terrible detriment to short term storage in plastic containers, hell i used to buy an ounce at a time and keep it in a tupperware in crawlspace beside my bed, but if its spending much time as eye candy between sessions you should invest in glass.

  4. It wont go moldy that fast. I've kept oz's in ziplock bags for up to a month with no problems.

  5. Mason Jar or Spice/Herb containers you might have in your kitchen have worked the best for me
