Taking A Break From Smoking, How To Get Mind Off And Calm Down?

Discussion in 'General' started by Mr.Butter, May 13, 2014.

  1. I'm taking a break from smoking and I just need some advice about how to do so.

  2. I find that if you can just get through that very first day of not smoking, it's pretty easy not to smoke after that. Just try to to find some other things to do.

  3. I've read about people feeling panic from not smoking after regular use and I thought that's not gonna happen to me but holy shit it did

  5. What exactly are you panicking about? Are you having trouble dealing with stress? Finding things to do? You gotta be a bit more specific.

Good ways of keeping your mind off of wanting to get high is to already put yourself in a good mood. Do something you enjoy. Eat your favorite foods. Listen to music/read/whatever you enjoy doing best.

  6. I don't know what but intense panic hit and I went and laid down for a bit which helped

  7. And no no stress or anything lol

  8. Just live life like you did high, just sober.

It's not hard. I can go without weed for weeks and not be bothered by it.  :confused_2:

  9. Meditate for 10 minutes in the mornings right when you wake up and again at night before you go to bed.

  10. I am also starting my break (Today) for about a month I don't think it's too hard. (Been smoking for a year) Just keep yourself occupied man. You might have some trouble going to sleep. And remember those "panic attacks" is just you wanting your good old Mary Jane. Don't give in just go on with your life and just remember the outcome is bigger than the sacrifice.

  11. I started Monday. I've smoked like once or twice a week but the last 3 weeks I've smoked everyday like 3 times a day and my tolerance is through the roof lol, I figure if I go a week smoking then a week off should that should fix it

  12. I put back on the chubs after I quit

Like 50 lbs. I think I replaced smoking with pizza and wings

  13. Start a religion.
    Start a country.
Start learning about something you know nothing about.
Be like that Wall Street thing and occupy.
    Your mind, that is.

  14. Find a hobby and get off the weed site.

  15. I totally don't get this?? When I don't smoke I have literally zero appetite to the point I have to force myself to eat. Unfortunately I'm always high and when high I will eat my own weight in food and still want more.

  16. it honestly just comes down to finding a hobby or something to occupy the time that you previously used with pot. once you can do that, you don't mind so much.

  17. I have abstained for the past month due to 2 failed UA's for my PO....I find poisoning my body with liquor is the best substitute.
