The beaches in South cali have beach patrols on them . You fire up a doobie and some kids smell it, the parents will dial 911 and you are popped within minutes. Don't do it on the beach. Do it in your car in the parking lot.
 
Now north cali has beaches with no patrol and no people. You can set a kilo on fire and hotbox the whole fuckin coast and nobody will complain.

Maybe put the gram in a baggie, spit on it and put it in your bum.  Worked fine for me last time I went to 'the beach'.

 

This is a no brainer man. Trust me I've taken much more than a gram to the beach and it's been fine every time, just don't be stupid.

last time i brought weed to the beach, this happened. They came running straight out of the ocean and took my pot.

I went to the beach not to long ago. What I would do was pre-roll a few blunts/Joints and then take those with me when we hit the water. Then I would just light up right there on the beach, most people weren't even paying attention. And since I rolled it, can easily be disposed of and once I smoke it, no more evidence.
 
I did have one couple look in my direction when they smelled it, and gave me the "Thumbs up"... haha Smokee....
 
I would not try taking a bowl or something, maybe a one hitter or chillium is a good alternative to rolling.
