T-5 Recommendation?

    I'm upgrading my set-up for my second run with the intent of growing perpetually. My flower area is a 4x4 area with a 600W HPS, and I need to add a separate germing/cloning/vegging area.

    What sized T-5 light, and how many bulbs would you recommend for vegging 4 plants for 5 weeks? I'm hoping to pack them under a 2' T5 set-up so I can build a small veg cabinet, is that pushing it? Also, if you have any link or recommendations for any cheap/decent t5 units, I'd love to see em :)

    I got an 2ft 8 lamp t5. It's about 2x2 in size and has been a great addition to my starts. I tried a 2
    Lamp t5 but it's just not enough to get a strong healthy start.

    Thanks! Is it a HO t5? Where did you get it and how much did you pay? Does it generate much heat?

    Yes t5 HO the lamps it came with are 24w and 6500k color temp. I payed close to $180 at a local shop here in the valley. And it seems to keep my veg closet a cozy 76 with 57%.

    Sweet. My local hydro stores are gougers and I refuse to shop with them.....they all want $250+ for their 4 bulb, waaaay overpriced. I need to find a good cheap one online....it sounds like an 8 bulb , 2 foot HO t5 may be the way to go for me. It'll pay for itself in one grow by saving on power during veg, and by saving on seeds once I have to ability to clone :)

    Anyone know of any cheap deals in t5s online?

    I got all my equipment from virtual sun, prices kill the grow stores maybe a little lower quality, so far I'm happy with everything i bought i highly recommend them
