Hi I'm a novice grower under flourescent lights. The plant is about 6 inches right now and the grow space will provide for maximum 1.5 feet height. Right now I'm at 15-9 because of energy conservation. If I move to 12-12 will the plant keep growing vertically to about a foot and at the same time that it begins budding? Will it begin to bud at all? Slowshi
wait til the plant is atleast 10 inches... 12 would be better.... you really need more than 1.5 feet though...
I would grow them taller than 6 inch, but becuase of the height issue just tie them down. with some clever tying you should be able to work with the height you've got. Flouro's don't give a great amount of light over large distance so keeping them low but wide will give better results. just my 2 cents
You can switch anytime you want, obviously your yeild will suffer if you switch now but it is still possible. A friend of mine here at University usually switches his plants over at about 10" or so to keep them smaller and he still gets decent yeilds, just give them enough light and some organic nutes once a week or so during flowering and they'll turn out nice.
cheack out doing a scrog man. run a search on it, you will be amazed at some of the small places people have grown like this. good luck
I highly doubt it- but: Has your plant shown its sex yet? Mine is about 5" right now and I wouldn't dream of switching it to 12/12 until it's at LEAST 8" and has shown it's sex.
Correct me if im wrong, but it will show sex. Pre-flowering, size, shape, etc. will show Sex during the end of Vegg stage
There is no such thing as "the end of veg stage" the end of veg stage is whenever the grower decides it is the end. A plant can stay in veg if you take care of it for the rest of your life. Mature plants in veg will sometimes start to show sex even if lights are 24/0 or 18/6. Anything below 12 inches tall and your yield will be effected. LST the plants and consider getting a taller box next time because if your pot is big enough, they will continue to grow vertically during flower. Sometimes the plants can grow 2-3 times larger in flower than they were in veg, depending on strain.
i say u just LST the hell out of them...also maybe fim a little too....as for flowering right now....i would DEFINITALLY not recommend it....i say u should look for a taller space....you should be able to find more than 1.5' somewhere...but if not....what you have is what you have and you will just have to work with it. good luck, peace out
SCROG is proven and tested to be the best way to grow marijuana. It produces the highest yield, and the most potent buds out of every method. It also consereves space. And best of all its easy to do.
