switching nutrient brands in veg

  1. Hi, is it bad to switch to a different brand of nutrients while still in vegetative state? Currently I'm running General Organics BioThrive but as an organic gardener I have learned that General Hydroponics is now owned by Monsanto and I feel I have been ripped off. I would like to switch to Alaska Fish Fertilizer 5-1-1. Does anyone use this on their outdoor plants?

  2. The NPK ratio of Alaska Fish Fertilizer 5-1-1 by itself is not enough for veg. General Organics and General Hydroponics are two different brands/companies. As for General Hydroponics:

The rumor that General Hydroponics was sold to Monsanto is false. Hawthorn Gardening Co. purchased General Hydroponics. Hawthorn Gardening Co. is a subsidiary of Scott's Miracle-grow which has a licensing agreement with Monsanto for Roundup in the home and garden market.
